Abstract: A bone plug anchoring device is provided for anchoring at least one graft to a bone. The bone plug anchoring devices comprises a plug and a locking element. The plug has a hollow passageway and a flange portion which extends radially out from the plug. The locking element is adapted to cooperate with the flange portion so that, when the locking element is locked to the flange portion while the graft(s) is (are) sandwiched between the locking element and the flange portion, the graft (or grafts) remains (or remain) anchored to the plug. The bone plug anchoring device is particularly well-suited for anchoring a hamstring tendon graft to a tibia after passing through a femur. The present invention also provides a method for anchoring at least one graft to a first bone.
Abstract: The electronic circuit which is intended to feed a magnetic-field sending coil has a first input terminal (1) for receiving a power-supply voltage (Ubat), a second input terminal (2) for receiving a periodic control signal (SC), an output terminal (4) for applying an output voltage (U) at the terminals of the said sending coil (L), in such a way as to convert the said periodic control signal into a periodic magnetic field sent out by the coil. In this circuit, the said output voltage (U) is a periodic signal having a period identical to the period of the control signal (SC), and a duty cycle which depends on the power-supply voltage (Ubat) so that a current flowing in the coil has a peak intensity corresponding to a reference peak intensity. With such a configuration, the range of the magnetic field sent out by then sending coil is not subject to the influences of a variation in the power-supply voltage.

Abstract: A service unit for an electrographic apparatus has a reservoir for storage of fresh toner or developer and a reservoir for storage of waste or depleted toner or developer. The fresh toner reservoir is separable from the waste toner reservoir and detachable from the service unit. The fresh toner reservoir has a wall which, in use, is in contact with a wall of the waste toner reservoir. Both contacting walls are flexible whereby the combined volume of the two reservoirs is less than the sum of the volumes which may be used to store the fresh and waste toner at different stages in the duty cycle of the service unit.
Abstract: An assay method for detecting potential cardiovascular disease (CVD) in a vascularized subject by assessing the concentration of holo-transcobalamin II (holo-TCII) in a sample from the subject where abnormally low levels of holo-TCII are indicative of CVD or susceptibility to CVD.
Abstract: The cylinder body 11 has the first boss 11d through which the wedge-actuating mechanism is inserted and the second boss 11e having an inlet port and outlet port of the fluid away from the first boss 11d, where the first boss 11d is fit in the boss fitting hole 33 of the torque-receiving member 30 while the second boss 11e is positioned adjacent to the outside of surrounding edge of the torque-receiving member 30.
Abstract: A spool shaft 2 supported between reel side-plates 3 and 4 and a spool 1 secured to the spool shaft 2 in a double bearing reel for fishing are integrally formed of the same material.
Abstract: The invention concerns a pressing cushion (1, 11, 31, 32, 33) having a cushioning (2, 12) that is elastic in its thickness direction and having connecting threads (8, 25), going back and forth between the surfaces of the cushioning, that are configured at least partially as thermally conductive threads. The pressing cushion (1, 11, 31, 32, 33) is characterized in that connecting threads (8, 25) are provided which have a sewn profile or form knitted stitches.

Abstract: A brake cable mounting structure for a drum brake, in which even if the distance from the brake mounting surface to the center of the brake shoes in the width direction is short, the layout of the brake cable mounting section and the mechanical expander is efficient and effectively provided. Further, the anchor only need to support the braking force, thereby making the device smaller and lighter. The brake cable mounting structure of this invention is characterized in that the inner cable of the brake cable extends out from the brake; and the guide pipe on which the outer casing of the brake cable is integrally fixed with the back plate.
Abstract: A structure for a housing for an axle assembly and method for manufacturing same is disclosed. The composite spring seat has the following considerations; heat resistance (i.e., heat deflection temperatures in excess of about 500° F. and arc resistance in excess of 180° F.); high tensile and flexural strength properties in a broad temperature range (i.e., 41 ksi and 82 ksi respectively at 23° C.); and good impact properties (i.e., 41 ft/lb). The composite spring seat provides reduced weight (i.e. 15 lbs. to 6 lbs.), roughly half the manufacturing costs associated with the convention steel forging, and reduced noise transmitted by the composite material.
Abstract: A device for control of an electric motor-driven compressor of an air-conditioning circuit has a control circuit and an inverter for applying a variable frequency to the electric motor for motor speed control. The control circuit includes a potentiometer and a controlled switch and enables a normal-operation mode under the control of the potentiometer as well as a degraded-operation mode in which the speed of the electric motor is a minimum, and a safety mode in which the operation of the electric motor is prevented.
Abstract: A cooling module is disclosed which comprises a plate, a flat heat pipe, a directional motor, and a fin structure, wherein at least a part of the heat pipe is embedded into the plate while being flush with plate, and the heat pipe is disposed close to a heat generating object and a coupling portion of the fin structure.
Abstract: An axle assembly employs a simple adjustable connection between the differential case and the housing to adjust the position of the ring gear relative to the pinion gear. A pair of adjustment collars facilitates positioning the differential case to selectively position the ring gear relative to the pinion gear of an input shaft. The adjustment collars threadingly engage the differential case. Bearings are disposed between the adjustment collars and the housing. The adjustment collars are rotated to position the differential case together with the ring gear. The adjustment collars are also provided to adjust the preload of the bearings. A locking collar is employed to lock the adjustment collars once the differential case and ring gear are properly positioned. In an alternate embodiment a single adjustment collar is employed. Shims and spacers are utilized to position the differential case and ring gear and the adjustment collar used to adjust the preload of the bearings.
Abstract: A hub for a predamper having two distinct coaxial parts one of which an external flange, and an internal sleeve axially longer than the external flange.
Abstract: The invention is a power inverter having a heat dissipating assembly. A heat sink plate is supported on the printed circuit board in a spaced configuration so that a space exists between the heat sink plate and the outer housing. The printed circuit board assembly includes mosfets inserted into the printed circuit board and electrically connected thereto. The heat sink plate abuts against a first side of the mosfets at an upper end of the mosfets to directly absorb heat from the mosfets. The exterior surface of the housing is provided with a plurality of heat dissipating fins to further enable heat dissipation.
Abstract: An interlocking container comprising a number of mutually interlocking plate forming the container that may be used for a plurality of various applications such as a vase, a pencil cup, a trash can, a support for a clock, or the like. The interlocking plates consist of a series of commonly formed printable pieces that interlock to form a variety of containers having unique geometric configuration.
Abstract: An integrated wheel end system for a vehicle including a clutch adapted to provide driving engagement/disengagement of a wheel to convert between driven and non-driven modes of wheel movement. A vehicle is provided with both 4×2 and 4×4 capabilities and, when 4×4 capability is required, a negative pressure is applied to a vacuum cavity thus causing a piston, shift fork and spline collar to move inboard. The spline collar is splined to the constant velocity joint and as it moves inboard it locks on the spline plate locking the wheelend to the axle shaft. The invention also provides a default 4×4 embodiment, the spline collar is splined to the joint and as the piston fork and spline collar move inboard, they unlock the wheelend from the axle shaft. A selectively activated actuator is provided for moving the clutch member between its driving and non-driving positions.
