  • Patent number: 8229826
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system is provided for managing counterparty risks associated with collaterals held by counterparties and minimizing systemic risk. A collateral trust management system (CTMS) is provided. Trust accounts are created for holding assets associated with a fund counterparty or collaterals from a derivative counterparty. A central collateral trust is created for providing funding to the trust accounts for the assets and for exposing the assets in the CTMS. The trust accounts are assigned to the counterparties. Leverage is determined for the trust accounts. Risk of assets in the trust accounts, assets' funding requirements, and amount of collaterals to be posted for external funding provided to the trust accounts are calculated. Collaterals, equity, and/or assets are pooled into the central collateral trust and assets are rehypothecated based on the calculation, for obtaining financing for the trust accounts. The CTMS securitizes risk of default of the trust accounts.

  • Patent number: 8203063
Abstract: A portable tuning apparatus comprising keys and a rotatable tuning plate is provided. Each key comprises two opposing connector arms separated by a cranked section and extending perpendicularly from opposing ends of the cranked section. A first opposing connector arm of each key is configured to engageably rotate a lug of multiple lugs that support a drumhead of a percussion instrument. A second opposing connector arm of each key slidably engages with one of the openings arranged at predetermined locations on the rotatable tuning plate. Rotating the rotatable tuning plate causes the second opposing connector arm along with the cranked section of each key to orbitally revolve about the first opposing connector arm of each key. This orbital revolution causes an axial rotation of the first opposing connector arm of each key engaged on the lug and imparts a uniform tension to the lugs for tensioning and tuning the drumhead.

  • Patent number: 8180808
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for grouping spend items in a list of said spend items, and for detecting outliers. The spend items entered into the spend database are phonetically sorted and grouped into second level clusters by the spend data clustering engine. In the first level of clustering, first level clusters are created by matching the spend items using generated word tokens and sorted sound codes. The unique spend items, in the list generated after first level clustering, are further matched to create second level clusters. The first level clusters are updated based on the second level of clustering. In order to determine discrepancies in clustering and spend, statistically deviating outliers are detected in each second level cluster. This engine provides clustering at configurable levels of accuracy. The engine's specific combination of word token and sound code matching provides accurate results for spend items.
