Abstract: The present invention provides a convenient method for separating hydrogen fluoride from a chemical mixture. More specifically, a method is provided in which hydrogen fluoride is separated from a chemical mixture containing at least one organic material by contacting the chemical mixture with a hydrogen fluoride binder. The hydrogen fluoride separated from the chemical mixture is readily recoverable from the hydrogen fluoride binder.
Abstract: A room temperature vulcanizable silicone rubber composition with crack resistant properties with improvement during cure, comprising a silanol end-stopped diorganopolysiloxane polymer; a methyl tris-(methyl ethyl ketoximino)silane crosslinker, an aminohydrocarbyl substituted ketoximinosilane adhesion promoter; a reinforcing or non-reinforcing filler or filler mixture, and an optional catalyst and plasticizer. These compositions cure to elastic materials useful as caulking materials, adhesives, coatings and encapsulating materials for the construction and other industries.

Abstract: An improved process for producing hydrofluorocarbons and hydrochlorofluorocarbons by reacting anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in the vapor phase and in the presence of a fluorination catalyst with an admixture of perchloroethylene and a phenolic inhibitor. The phenolic component is effective to inhibit the formation of an oxidation product in the perchloroethylene while not substantially degrading the fluorination catalyst during the fluorination process. In another embodiment, substantially all of any oxidation inhibitor is removed from the perchloroethylene in-line prior to reacting the hydrogen fluoride with the perchloroethylene.
Abstract: 1,1-difluoroethane is produced by the reaction of 1,2-dichloroethane with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in a liquid phase and in the presence of a Lewis acid. Preferably the Lewis acid is tin, antimony, titanium, molybdenum, tungsten, niobium or tantalum halide or a mixture thereof.
