  • Patent number: 6122868
Abstract: An accordion shutter system comprising a plurality of continuously extruded, substantially rectangular accordion shutter blades having opposing vertical sides wherein one vertical side of each the shutter blade consists of a male end and the opposite vertical side of each the shutter blade consists of a female end such that the male end of adjacent the shutter blades interlocks with the female end of the shutter blade therein forming a triple interlocking hinge; means for laterally deploying and stacking the accordion shutter system; means for connecting the shutter blades to each other when the accordion shutter system is fully deployed; and means for connecting the shutter blades to a horizontal or vertical surface.

  • Patent number: 6035659
Abstract: A sanitary beverage cooler. This invention provides for a sanitary beverage cooler which is affixed to the open top of a beverage-holding container such as a can or bottle. The sanitary beverage cooler is filled with a cooling substance such as a plurality of ice cubes. As the beverage passes through the opening in the beverage-holding container, either by tilting or by use of a straw, and into the orifice defined by the cylindrical receptacle of the beverage cooler, the beverage becomes cooled by the cooling substance which is contained within the beverage cooler. The user is thereby able to affix the beverage cooler to a beverage-holding container containing a warm beverage, and drink the beverage contained therein after it has been cooled by cooling substance without the possibility of the beverage being diluted by continuous and prolonged contact with the cooling substance.

  • Patent number: 6026927
Abstract: A speaker assembly with a unique sound driver sub-baffle assembly which can be pivoted forward and backward, as well as rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise 360 degrees via the use of a rotatable turntable mounted within the speaker's baffle. The assembly allows a listener to manually alter the orientation and direction of the speaker's transducers thereby allowing for optimal dispersion control after the speaker is installed in a wall, regardless of the speaker's position within a room. The sub-baffle assembly, when pivoted to its maximum limit, provides a flush, continuous surface with the inner rim of the rotatable turntable, allowing a listener to control dispersion of the sound waves without creating distortion. Further, the transducers embedded within the sub-baffle assembly are maintained in a coplanar relationship throughout rotation and pivoting.

  • Patent number: 6021839
Abstract: This invention relates to a strong, light weight accordion shutter system that increases strength while decreasing weight, and is especially resistant to hurricane force winds and flying objects when used to cover doors, windows or openings. More specifically, this invention relates to a shutter system comprising a plurality of connectable subsystems of shutters that are connected via a shutter mating system which provides sufficient strength to obviate the need to drill locking holes during installation and connection. This accordion shutter system also offers a unique ability to secure doors, windows and openings of any size from forced entry and enables the user to operate from either side of the shutter system. This invention further provides a unique and improved elongated header and extruded sill which come into contact with and provide greater support to the shutter blade while reducing load upon the guide pin.

  • Patent number: 5769105
Abstract: A stationary boat cover suspended from an overhead supporting structure disposed over a boat lift for covering a boat. The stationary boat cover comprises a sheet, having a front, back and sides, a plurality of loops or grommets spaced from and along the sides of the sheet, a plurality of periphery cords having first ends, attached to the overhead supporting structure, and second ends, attached to the loops or grommets of the sheet, a circular wooden disk centrally located, below the sheet, with respect to the bow and stern of the boat, a central cord, shorter in length than the plurality of periphery cords, having a first end, attached to the overhead supporting structure, and a second end, passing through the sheet and attaching to the circular wooden disk, and a plurality of connecters having first ends attached to a catwalk surrounding the boat lift and a second ends attached to loops or grommets of the sheet.
