  • Patent number: 7481195
Abstract: A reciprocating internal combustion engine has an engine block (100) with at least one pair of coaxially aligned cylinders (30L and 30R) in which a dual-headed piston body reciprocates. Two rack gears (27 and 28) are mounted within a central frame structure (40) of the piston body and mesh with two pinion gears (29a and 29b, respectively). The pinion gears are rotatably mounted on an axle (21) oriented approximately perpendicular to the line of reciprocate motion of the piston. A slip clutch (23a and 23b) on each pinion gear alternatively locks and unlocks the pinion gear to the axle to permit rotation of the axle in one direction as the piston reciprocates. Preferably, fuel combustion occurs alternatively in each cylinder head. A valved chamber (34L and 34R) in the cylinder head enables exhaust. Preferably, a flywheel (49) is connected to the axle.

  • Patent number: 7452513
Abstract: A triple helical flow vortex reactor has a reaction chamber (100) with the means to create three fluid flow vortexes and an optional double end orbiting plasma arc to sustain combustion. The first vortex is of fuel and combusted gases such that said fuel and combusted gases spiral away from a fuel inlet end (150) towards an exhaust nozzle or gas outlet end (110) of the reaction chamber (100). The second vortex is one starting at the gas outlet end (110) and confined to a thin layer at the inner wall surface (130) of the reaction chamber (100). The second vortex spirals in a direction reverse to the flow of the first vortex towards the fuel inlet end (150) of the reaction chamber (100). The third vortex is starting at the fuel inlet end and also confined to a thin layer at the inner wall surface (130) of the reaction chamber (100) in a direction with the flow of the first vortex.

  • Patent number: 7426500
Abstract: This processing is distributed among number of simple hexagonal units distributed in a honeycomb layer, consisting of a central hexagram surrounded by six receiving cells, each representing an invariable binary place fed into central hexagram's CPU controlled by a simple program. The activated receiving cells indicate the presence of a stimulus. The interconnected layers overlap so that the higher-level receiving cells get input from the lower-level central hexagrams and higher-level output modifies lower-level programs as well as sends input to other levels or Memory Units. Integration of layer output is achieved in 3D Memory Unit Complex consisting of truncated octagons, where each hexagonal side represents a binary number linked to 6 others through one binary place that makes adjacent numbers different. The input into each Memory Unit comes from the output of a Patch of central hexagrams a clocked input, other-layer output or a Memory Unit feedback.

  • Patent number: 7368091
Abstract: A package and process of using the package for disposal of radioactive cesium and strontium waste capsules. The package comprises a standard Hanford vitrified high-level waste canister as an outer container, which is approximately filled with three components: the first is a monolithic material with a defined cavity having a composite density less than about 3.5 grams per cubic centimeter and a melting temperature above that expected within the disposal package; the second is a frame for limiting relative movement of the capsules; and, the third are components forming an uninterrupted physical contact, thermal conduction pathway from the waste container to the outside of the package. The package includes lids for closing the disposal package. In the method of the invention, the capsules are loaded into position within the monolithic material, encased in thermally conducting material, and then lids are added to close the package.

  • Patent number: 7273171
Abstract: A method for managing the operation of a transportation system for persons or goods implemented by a single administrative office (11). Participants operating or using the transportation system are registered. Identity confirming information is obtained and identification documentation is provided to each registrant. Any registered person may make a reservation for transportation services. A security check of each registered person is made. One or more transporters (14) is then chosen. Selections are then made among chosen transporters when more than one chosen transporter is suitable. The transporter is notified to confirm acceptance of the order by the passenger or shipper. The passenger or shipper is then notified of the transporter and conditions for such transportation services. Finally, payment is received for the transportation services, which may then be conveyed to the transporter.

  • Patent number: 6941878
Abstract: A melter for the vitrification of waste, and method of using the melter, in the form of a disposal canister, wherein the melter is capable of filling multiple disposal canisters of waste and subsequently of being filled with vitrified waste and disposed of in like manner to that of a disposal canister. In the method of the invention, while waste is loaded into the melter, it is melted and then allowed to flow out of the melter and into a disposal container. The filled disposal container is then removed and and replaced with an empty disposal container. This is repeated until a fixed number of disposal containers are filled. Then, the melter is filled with vitrified waste and disposed of in the same manner as for a disposal canister.

  • Patent number: 6558308
Abstract: The Advanced Vitrification System (AVS) Melting Process is a process for vitrification of waste in a disposable canister. In the process, waste is dropped into the disposable canister from the top. While the waste is being dropped into the disposable canister, radiant energy is added to the space above the waste in the canister, such that the temperature of the gaseous atmosphere above the waste is higher than the melting point of the waste. Since only the space above the waste in the canister is heated, the temperature of the melt decreases with increasing depth of the waste in the canister. The decreasing temperature permits a small surface melt volume to be maintained and solidified product to form with increasing depth. The process continues until the disposable canister is filled, then all heating is stopped and the disposable canister allowed to cool to ambient temperature.
