  • Patent number: 4852843
Abstract: A beverage holder for mounting in an automobile includes a substantially U-shaped jacket having a curved front portion, an open back portion, and a top opening for receiving a conventional beverage container. A pair of hooks or similar fasteners is provided on the free ends of the jacket for demountably securing the holder to the louvers of the air conditioning and heating unit of the automobile. Spacing is provided between the beverage container and the jacket to allow cooled or heated air from the air conditioning and heating unit to circulate around the beverage, thus keeping a cold drink cold during summer or a hot drink hot during winter.

  • Patent number: 4812127
Abstract: A dental hygiene teaching tool and storage device is configured as a caricatured head including a lower jaw member and an upper jaw member which is movably positioned on top of the lower jaw member. The forward portions of both the lower and upper jaw members are molded to simulate realistic human teeth. The lower jaw member includes a well for receiving a container of dental floss which is normally covered and concealed by the upper jaw member. The upper jaw member includes a plurality of bores for holding elongated dental hygiene implements such as toothbrushes, mouth mirrors and the like in vertically upright positions.

  • Patent number: 4800592
Abstract: A costume includes a pair of arm pieces, a pair of leg pieces, and an optical hood, each of which is made from a compressible tubular conduit including a helically wound coil of resiliently flexible wire material and a covering material for encasing the wire material. The arm pieces are connected together by an adjustable strap which extends over the wearer's back. The leg pieces include hooks for securing over the wearer's pants. Both the arm and leg pieces include end caps with small diameter openings for closely encircling the wearer's wrists and shins, respectively, thus preventing the coil of flexible wire material in each piece from extending beyond the length of the wearer's arms of legs.

  • Patent number: 4802069
Abstract: A set of tire change lights for illuminating the tires of an automotive vehicle during a tire-changing operation comprises four lights, each of which is mounted near the wheel well above a different one of the vehicle's tires. Each light includes a light source, such as a light bulb, which is mounted inside a lamp housing. The lamp housing, in turn, is mounted for manual or automatic reciprocation from a retracted position within a concealed stationary mounting case in the body of the vehicle to an extended position outside of the vehicle. The bottom wall of the lamp housing is provided with a lens which allows light from the light source to illuminate the area around the tire. The light source is electrically connected in series to the battery of the vehicle by means of a normally open control switch which closes to activate the light source when the lamp housing moves into its extended position and opens to deactivate the light source when the lamp housing moves into its retracted position.

  • Patent number: 4801170
Abstract: A sun screen for blocking light rays and inhibiting heat transfer through the windshield of a vehicle includes a sheet of light-reflective material sized and shaped to conform to the contours of the windshield, and a pair of compression rods for securing the sheet in place. Each compression rod, which is secured to one of the opposing side edges of the sun screen, includes a bottom support element for supporting the screen in a forward corner of the vehicle dashboard, a top gripping element for releasably securing a top corner of the sun screen to a mounting fixture such as the pivot arm of the windshield visor, and a biasing element, such as a spring, for biasing the gripping element away from the support element.

  • Patent number: 4798936
Abstract: A heater adapted for placement under the mattress of a waterbed consists of a flexible laminated pad having an upper layer of resistive elements embedded in electrical insulating material, and several subjacent layers of heat-reflective and thermal insulating materials. All of the layers are encased in a protective waterproof sheath. The pad may be connected in parallel with one or more similar pads and a heat sensor may be associated with each pad. In one embodiment, a control circuit is provided for supplying power to all of the pads simultaneously when all of the heat sensors detect that the temperature of the mattress has dropped below a predetermined value. In another embodiment, power may be supplied to each pad independently of the other pads.

  • Patent number: 4779362
Abstract: A walking sole and carrier assembly comprises a pair of walking soles for mounting beneath rigid-bottomed footgear such as ski boots, and a detachable handle for joining the soles in side-by-side relationship to one another so that they form a carrier or boot tree. The lower tread face of each walking sole includes a planar rear surface and a planar front surface which defines an obtuse angle with respect to the rear surface. The junction between the front and rear surface is a straight line, which allows the wearer to rock abruptly from the rear surface to the front surface, simulating the natural action of a foot bending at the ball, and duplicating the toe flexing which would be performed by the back foot during ordinary walking, but which is prohibited by the rigid bottoms of the footgear.
