Abstract: Enhanced presentation techniques for modeling a connectivity universe associated with a particular user or device are provided. Example embodiments provide a WorldView Display System (a “WVDS”), which automatically organizes a user's online relationships with entities, such as devices, data collections, services, and people, and provides a user interface for accessing and interacting with these entities. The WVDS automatically determines the universe of objects that the user has relationships with, automatically groups objects having similar measures of access proximity, displays a multi-dimensional representation of these groups of objects on a display device, and provides a uniform user interface for initiating an interaction with any represented object. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

Abstract: Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) devices and methods with controlled die bonding areas. An example device includes a MEMS die having a glass layer and a protective package. The glass layer includes a side facing the protective package with at least one mesa protruding from a recessed portion of the glass layer. The at least one mesa is attached to the protective package. An example method includes creating at least one mesa on a glass layer of a MEMS die and attaching the at least one mesa to a protective package.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for facilitating spinal alignment is disclosed. The contoured sleep system facilitates alignment of a person's spine along the Sagittal plane when laying in a sleep-on-side position. An exemplary contoured sleep system has a unibody trunk rest, head rest and spacing member.

Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for dynamically rendering documents during a signing ceremony (instead of validating that signature tasks are placed appropriately on all documents). The invention establishes a visibility policy that governs how documents are rendered, based on the state of system Tabs (instructions) placed on the documents.

Abstract: A network clustering facility is described. The network clustering facility receives a message having a location identification that identifies a destination for the message and comprises at least two components, selects a network node identified by the components of the location identification, determines whether a link exists to the selected network node, and identifies a best link to the selected network node. The network clustering facility comprises a clustering subsystem, an advertising subsystem, and a routing layer.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for accurately making a limbal relaxing incision. An example universal limbal relaxing guide (ULRIG) includes an inner rotating ring, a measurement gauge, a base unit and bumpers. The inner rotating ring and measurement gauge rotate concentrically relative to the base unit. The inner ring guides a keratome along an arc of constant radius. The measurement gauge enables the user to select the length of the arc and the bumpers prevent the keratome from overshooting the desired incision length. Because the thin degree ring rotates relative to the base unit, the example ULRIG can be used with more than one style of keratome. Multiple marks on a pointing bumper enable the user to adjust the resultant incision length for the cornea size of an individual patient.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improving relevant weather determination for aircraft at altitude. An exemplary system includes a weather radar component and memory that stores weather radar data in a three-dimensional (3D) buffer. A processor calculates vertically integrated reflectivity using the stored weather radar data at a predefined reference altitude at one or more locations from the aircraft. The processor then adjusts a lower boundary of a relevant weather envelope from a first value to a second value, if the vertically integrated reflectivity is greater than a predefined threshold. The range of the adjusted lower boundary of the envelope is associated with the weather radar data having the calculated vertically integrated reflectivity greater than the predefined threshold. A display device displays the weather radar data located within the envelope in a first manner and displays the weather radar data located outside of the envelope in a second manner.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining whether or not one or pluralities of events, patterns, or data elements present within a given digital data stream should be delimited as anomalous. The system requires analyzes the data elements of the data stream using any acceptable user-specified, preset, or automatically determined analysis system. The results of the data processing, which are stored in a data storage structure such as a synaptic web or a data array for example, reveal synaptic paths (patterns) of characteristic algorithm values that function to individually define or delimit the selected data element(s) from the remainder of the original data stream.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mounting inertial sensors on a board. On a wafer containing one or more sensor packages having a substrate layer, a sensor layer and an insulator layer located between the sensor layer and the substrate layer, a V-groove is anisotropically etched into one of the substrate layer. The substrate layer is in the 100 crystal plane orientation. The sensor package is then separated from the wafer. Then, a surface of the substrate layer formed by the etching is attached to a board. In one example, three sensor packages are mounted to the board so that their sense axis are perpendicular to each other.

Abstract: Systems and methods communicate weather information between aircraft using low bandwidth communication transceivers. An exemplary embodiment receives weather information from a weather radar system on board a remote aircraft, processes the received weather information into weather radar image information that is displayable on at least a display, processes the weather radar image information into a reduced size dataset, and communicates the reduced size dataset to an installation aircraft over the low bandwidth communication channel, wherein the low bandwidth communication channel is generated by a low bandwidth communication transceiver on board the remote aircraft.

Abstract: An apparatus for facilitating sleep is disclosed. Embodiments of the sleep system receive a person's lower arm in an arm cavity of a person laying in a sleep-on-side position. An exemplary sleep system has a trunk rest and head rest. Two separated cantilevered supports extending outwardly from the base portion of the head rest are in contact with and supported by a top edge of the trunk rest, thereby defining an arm aperture that receives the person's lower arm when laying in a sleep-on-side position. An arm cavity is defined by lower surfaces of the two cantilevered supports and a trunk rest cantilevered arm cavity surface that extends generally downward and inward.

Abstract: A media control system processes a numeric user input to identify a set of alphabetic letters. The media control system selects a plurality of media channel names based on the set of alphabetic letters. The media control system generates a first signal to drive a first display of the media channel names. The media control system processes additional user input to select one of the displayed media channel names. The media control system generates a second signal to drive a second display associated with a media channel identified by the selected one of the displayed media channel names.

Abstract: A collapsible salad spinner includes a bowl, basket, and lid. Each of the bowl and basket are formed such that they are collapsible, with the bowl and basket being collapsible while nested within one another.

Abstract: Systems and methods communicate sensor data pertaining to detected weather between aircraft. An exemplary system has at least one sensor on a transmitting aircraft that is configured to detect weather and configured to output sensor data, and a transceiver that is configured to receive a query from a requesting aircraft for the sensor data and that is configured to transmit a signal with the sensor data for receipt by the requesting aircraft in response to receiving the query. Upon receipt by the requesting aircraft, the received sensor data of the transmitting aircraft may then be fused with sensor data of the requesting aircraft for a geographic region of interest to extend the effective sensor coverage and to resolve at least one of a location conflict and a severity conflict between the sensor data of the transmitting aircraft and the requesting aircraft.

Abstract: Two opposing substrate layers each having one or more recesses filled with magnetic material guide the flow of flux through a coil in a MEMS device layer to provide for closed-loop operation. Flux flows from one pole piece through the coil to a second pole piece. A method of making using lithographic etching techniques is also provided.
