Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for resistance stretching and strengthening of the muscles of the lower leg of a human user. The device and method provide a lever arm for hinging the foot about the ankle joint for providing resistance first against a series of concentric, and preferably but optionally, isometric contractions of the muscles of the lower leg sufficient to fatigue at least one of the muscles, and then for applying force sufficient to oppose and overcome the opposite force of the user to perform an eccentric contraction of the muscles. The device includes an elongated portion that acts as a lever arm for hinging the foot about the ankle joint and a fastening means for securing the foot against the top surface of the elongated portion and allowing for manipulation of the foot to assist in the performance of the various contractions of the muscles of the lower leg.

Abstract: A container for packaging food for transporting and selling to consumers is provided. The container includes a base having a pair of inwardly recessed pockets for capturing a pair of extending latching portions on a lid. The pair of extending latching portions has concave grooves allowing the extending latching portions to flex inwards from an initial position for insertion into the pair inwardly recessed pockets. When the pair of extending latching portions are inserted into the pair inwardly recessed pockets, the pair of extending latching portions expand back to their initial position and protrusions within the pair of inwardly recessed pockets retain the pair of extending latching portions creating a tight fit and preventing the lid of the container from being easily disengaged from the base of the container.

Abstract: A novel fastener is provided which includes an expanding sleeve for receiving a pin where the pin has shank terminating at a first end in a pin head and terminating at a second end in an externally threaded portion of the pin. The expanding sleeve may include a hollow tubular shank terminating at a first end in a sleeve head and having an opening at a second sleeve end for receiving the pin. The sleeve head include an internal sleeve head surface for engagement with an external pin head side surface when in an assembled position. When the pin and expanding sleeve in the assembled position are inserted into an aperture in a structure, a gap is formed between the aperture and an outer surface of the expanding sleeve. The outer surface of the expanding sleeve radially expands outward into the aperture filling the gap upon engagement of the internal face of the sleeve head and the external pin head surface.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a drumstick gripping aid. In one embodiment, the drumstick gripping aid includes a first strap having two loops and a second strap having one loop interconnected thereto. The first strap is adapted to fit about at least two fingers of a user while the second strap is adapted to fit about an outer circumference of a drumstick. In another embodiment, a drumstick gripping aid includes a single strap having two loops. In one variation, a first loop is adapted to fit about one finger of a user while a second loop is adapted to fit about an outer circumference of a drumstick. In another variation, the first loop and the second loop are adapted to fit about at least two fingers of a user, the drumstick gripping aid fixedly attached to a drumstick.

Abstract: A container having a base with extending sidewalls therefrom and a lid hingedly connected thereto. The container may have an alignment mechanism having a lower alignment member and an upper alignment member locating surface on the base and lid, respectively, at the region where the base and the lid are hingedly connected. The container may have a plurality of locking mechanisms in which each locking mechanism includes an extending latching portion and a corresponding circular opening for engagement thereof. The locking mechanism is configured to securely lock the lid to the base wherein an appropriate amount of pulling force must be applied thereto in order to disengage the lid from the base.

Abstract: The present invention provides a reclosable storage bag for packaging/containing and transporting objects, such as food. The reclosable storage bag may include a flexible inner liner contoured to the shape of a user's hand and have one or more closure members for sealing the ends of the bag. The user may store food in an interior storage area of the bag and may use the flexible inner liner to grab or hold onto the food so that the user will not have to directly touch the food while eating.

Abstract: The interactive messaging system of the present invention provides for an interactive communication process between users, both senders and recipients. The sender composes a message by filling in a template stored in data services. Once completed, the sender pushes the message to a recipient's wireless device if the wireless device contains a WAP browser, which is capable of receiving pushed messages. Typically the message includes a question along with answers for the recipient to choose from. Each answer corresponds with a pre-assigned response key and the recipient answers the question by selecting one of the pre-assigned response keys. The recipient's response is available to the sender in the form of an e-mail, WAP Push, on-line access or interactive message that is shown to the sender on an on-line status screen.

Abstract: A cavity ring down system is optimized to precisely measure trace gases or particles in an air sample by using time sampling detection and multiple-sample averaging resulting in a high signal-to-noise ratio. In one embodiment, a cavity ring down system is programmed to measure the rise time and the fall time of the light level in an optical cavity. The cavity ring down system is programmed to integrate a plurality of sample portions during a rise time and a plurality of sample portions during a fall time (in alternate intervals) to obtain a time constant with no sample present and a time constant with sample present. The measurements are used to calculate trace gases in the air sample.

Abstract: A frame assembly for mounting recessed fixtures that can be manually installed without the use of tools. One embodiment of the invention includes a primary mounting frame for recessed installation, the primary mounting frame defining an open interior to accommodate a fixture and including a border flange along the outer edge of the open interior. A ratcheting fastener is rotationally coupled to the primary mounting frame and can be manually secured by depressing it toward the border flange to secure the primary mounting frame between opposite surfaces of a substrate. The ratcheting fastener can be rotated to engaged or disengaged from ratcheting teeth.

Abstract: On implementation of the invention provides a stackable chip-scale package for improving memory density that may be mounted within a limited area or module. A novel staggered routing scheme enables the use of the same trace routing at every level of the stacked architecture for efficiently accessing individual memory devices in a chip-scale package stack. The use of a ball grid array chip-scale package architecture in combination with thermally compatible materials decreases the risk of thermal cracking while improving heat dissipation. Moreover, this architecture permits mounting support components, such as capacitors and resistors, on the chip-scale package.

Abstract: One embodiment of the invention provides a post extension system frame assembly for mounting fixtures within a recess in a wall or ceiling and that can be adjusted and installed with minimal time and effort. One feature of the invention provides a post extension and angling mechanism that can be manually installed and/or adjusted to set the depth, direction and angle of an audio device so as to be able to position the sound dispersion axis of the audio device (e.g., speaker, tweeter, woofer, audio transducer, etc.) directly towards a listener.
