  • Patent number: 7463158
Abstract: The present invention provides an acoustic particle alarm comprising a particle sensor for indicating the concentration of particles exceeding a specified size and specified concentration, for particles entrained in a fluid flow impinging on a front face of the sensor, and a nozzle for directing the fluid flow such that the particles impact the sensor in a direction substantially normal to the front face of the sensor. Each particle impacting the front face of the sensor causes a response in an output of the sensor with amplitude that is monotonic in the momentum of the impinging particle.

  • Patent number: 7421463
Abstract: Disclosed is a random sequence generating apparatus for generating a sequence of integers. A seed receiving section receives a sequence of integers as a seed. An initialization section provides a transformation section with the received sequence of integers. The transformation section performs predetermined transformation on each of the provided integer sequence to acquire a sequence of integers. A rotation section acquires the number of rotation bits from a part of the acquired sequence of integers, performs a rotation operation on the acquired number of rotation bits with respect to all of or part of the sequence of integers taken as a bit sequence, and acquires a sequence of integers. An updating section provides the transformation section with the sequence of integers. An output section outputs part of a sequence of integers obtained last as a random sequence in case where transformation and rotation are repeated a predetermined number of times.

  • Patent number: 7411997
Abstract: A filter (201) accepts spreading code sequences or the like as input sequences of a chip rate 1/D, the accepted spreading code sequences are sequentially delayed and distributed by delay circuits (202) connected in series, delay times of individual signals are an arithmetical progression with a chip length D being a common difference D, the individual signals are amplified with spreading codes by amplifiers (203), amplification factors for the individual signals are a geometrical progression of a common ratio r, the sum of the amplified signals is obtained by addition in an adder (204), and the result is sequentially output as an output sequence.

  • Patent number: 7396550
Abstract: A time released nutritional food product and method of making it in is provided in which the product includes a plurality of grain or seed based constituents having plural digestion rates. In a preferred embodiment the product can be prepared by cooking the constituent parts together as a mixture at a substantially single length of cooking time. For example, the product while palatable, can be cooked by adding water, boiling for a given amount of time and eaten. In an embodiment the constituent parts include processed and unprocessed grains, at least one of which forms a gelatinous coating on the others when cooked.

  • Patent number: 7376621
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for conducting electronic commerce using electronic tokens are described. The electronic tokens are issued and maintained by a vendor, who also provides products and services that can be purchased or rented using the electronic tokens. The electronic tokens may be purchased from the vendor either on-line, using a credit card, or off-line, using a check, money order, purchase order, or other payment means. Because the vendor is the issuer of the electronic tokens, there is no need for transactions to be handled by a third party, such as a bank or other organization. This reduces the overhead involved in conducting electronic commerce, and provides the vendor with a greater amount of control. Additionally, the vendor maintains total control over the price of the electronic tokens at any time.
