Abstract: In a system for cubing rectangular units such as block or brick, there is provided a system for reorienting selected ones of the units to formulate layers in the cube to provide maximum stabilization of the units in the cube. The apparatus includes an orientation station comprising a plurality of planar tables, selected ones of which are movable laterally in a horizontal plane, rotated to reorient units thereon, and return to their original position for offloading of the reoriented blocks.
Abstract: A system for selectively and controllably supplying pressurized fluids to dental or surgical tools requiring high pressure air at two levels of pressure and low pressure air and/or liquid.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the cold forming of a metal billet into a desired geometrical configuration including the steps of feeding the billet into a die cavity while the cavity is open, closing one end of the die cavity with the billet confined therein and disposing an anvil in the opposite end of the die cavity to define an annular space between the anvil and the die cavity wall, closing such annular space, applying a first pressure against a selected area of the billet sufficient to cause the billet to commence extrusion about the anvil and to fill the die cavity, thereafter increasing the volume of the annular space between the anvil and die cavity wall into which the billet is extruded while maintaining a substantially uniform second pressure against the billet in opposition to the flow of the metal, the magnitude of the second pressure being less per unit area than the first pressure whereby the metal flows substantially uniformly in the course of the extrusion.
Abstract: An improvement in a mini-sock comprising an abbreviated ankle portion defining a flap designed to overhang a shoe in the heel portion thereof.
Abstract: A grader attachment for a bucket, which includes a scoop panel having a cutting edge and a pair of oppositely disposed side panels which define an interior volume, includes a bifurcated frame member, including a first leg and a second leg cooperatively defining an elongated slot therebetween receiving the cutting edge and a substantial portion of the scoop panel of the bucket. The outboard end portion of the first leg is located within the interior volume defined by the bucket. Longitudinally adjustable jackscrews frictionally engage the side panels and laterally adjustable jackscrews frictionally engage the scoop panel. A grader blade is attached to the frame member.
Abstract: A seed sower includes a storage container which includes a discharge panel having an inner wall and an outer wall spaced from the inner wall. An inner aperture is defined in the inner wall and an outer aperture, defined in the outer wall, communicates with the inner aperture by means of a passageway. Bracket means are rigidly attached to the container and battery powered motor means is rigidly attached to the bracket means. A distribution plate means is rotated by the motor means and disposed opposite and spaced from the outer aperture.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for receiving brick standing on their ends with their length dimension oriented uprightly, accumulating the brick in a cradle oriented in a horizontal plane, reorienting the cradle with its load of brick, ejecting the brick from the cradle as a stack unit to a transfer station, and transferring the reoriented stack of brick on to a pallet or other receiver therefor.
Abstract: An apparatus for directing a curtain of air along a predetermined path into a pit in which material is burning from an elongated plenum positioned adjacent one margin of the pit. The air exits the plenum through an elongated nozzle assembly communicating with the interior of the plenum member. The path of the air from the nozzle is adjustable by means of a vane to enhance the oxidation of the burning materials and to reduce the amount of smoke produced.
Abstract: A system for selectively and controllably supplying pressurized fluids to dental or surgical tools requiring high pressure air and low pressure air and/or liquid. The fluids are selectively supplied through conduit means to a manifold including a plurality of passageways. Removably mounted upon the manifold are individual valve sets, each one associated with a tool. Each valve set is simultaneously opened or closed by the longitudinal movement of a shaft carrying spaced apart enlargements. The longitudinal movement is actuated by control air controlled by hangers upon which unused tools are hung. When a valve set is opened, fluids flow through manifold passageways, through the valve set, back through other manifold passageways and through conduit means to the selected tool.
