  • Patent number: 4069432
Abstract: A plurality of comparators are used to compare first, second, and third input signals against a first and second predetermined signal level threshold. The outputs of the comparators are combined to ascertain the difference in signal amplitude between the first, second, and third input signals with respect to the first and second predetermined signal thresholds. If the amplitude deviation of the first, second, and third signals are within the threshold limits, a control signal adjusts the characteristics of the first and second signal channels to match the amplitude of the first and second signals to the amplitude of the third signal to make the three input signals equal. If the first, second, and third input signal deviation is without the threshold limits, the input signals are assumed correct, and no adjustment is made.

  • Patent number: 4025959
Abstract: A transport-scanner assembly is provided with a cantilevered truncated arcuate surface adapted to support and guide a recording web, while the web is scanned for information transducing. The web extends between a pair of reels in a cartridge, which is movably mounted to interface with the arcuate surface of the transport scanner assembly through a movable wall of the cartridge. In this condition, the arcuate surface of the scanner is interposed within and between the walls of the cartridge, with the web being transported and scanned within the recess of the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4024572
Abstract: The line-by-line R-Y component phase is detected by digital means directly from the composite video source, for example, the recorded composite video signal reproduced from a video tape recorder, and a continuous signal waveform at a two-line period is produced which indicates the instantaneous polarity of the R-Y component of each line of a PAL format video signal. The invention further provides for a positive elimination of the effect of spurious signals, such as dropouts, as well as compensating for the frame rate offset of the subcarrier employed in certain signal formats, such as PAL-B.

  • Patent number: 4024571
Abstract: A synchronizing system separates the synchronizing components from a composite video signal into signal components representing horizontal sync and color burst. The leading edge of the horizontal sync component is used to develop a timing signal which is compared with the positive and negative averaged burst signal from a band pass filter tuned to the burst frequency. Comparators drive respective flip-flops arranged to provide both negative and positive burst signal outputs at a selected burst signal crossover near the end of the original burst signal.A gate circuit coupled to the flip-flop output terminals develops a line start signal which contains the leading edge of the incoming signal sync information corrected to a selected color burst. The synchronizing circuit also provides a substitute signal in the absence of the color burst component to maintain system synchronization.
