Abstract: A trim insert for a choke assembly is disclosed, wherein the trim insert is a tubular member with a substantially constant inner diameter. A first end of the device is positioned within an adjacent upstream sleeve and a second end is sealingly retained within the discharge channel of the choke assembly. A flange coaxially retains the tubular member between the sleeve and a shoulder of the choke body. The trim insert is made of an erosion resistant material, such as tungsten carbide, hardened steel, or a ceramic. Additionally, the inner surface of the tubular member may be coated with a hardening compound to provide additional erosion resistance.
