  • Patent number: 7056050
Abstract: An advanced data controlled cleaning system that consists of cleaning tools, cleaning mops and information-technology (IT) solutions. The system uses sensors to detect the presence of a cleaning mop in a room. The sensors communicate with an IT system which monitors the rooms in which the cleaning mop is used, the time that the cleaning mop entered the room, and the length of time that the cleaning mop remained in the room. The cleaning mop includes a motion sensor to monitor how often the mop head is swept back and forth across the floor. This motion information is used to ensure that the proper amount of work is performed in each room. The system also ensures that the mophead is itself cleaned at the proper time by counting the number of times the mophead is swept across the floor. The system provides cleaning fluid to the mophead based on usage, and stops application of cleaning fluid when the mophead itself requires service.

  • Patent number: 7006001
Abstract: A speech or phrase emitting celebration device, in the nature of a piñata, includes a longitudinal axial channel within which is placed a complementally sized integrated circuit (“IC”) including a library of pre-programmed voice chips having phrases selected by random. The circuit is responsive to impacts or shocks upon a fanciful housing of the device sufficient to actuate a shock sensor switch thereof. A speaker, in electrical communication with the circuit board of the integrated circuit, is in mechanical communication with a speaker at an end of the channel so that the emitted phrase may be heard by those in the vicinity of the device. A hollow cylindrical sensor may be disposed within the interior channel to provide appropriate input to the shock sensor switch, or a more sensitive discrete element sensor may be used.

  • Patent number: 6867697
Abstract: A system for guiding of the visually handicapped includes a continuous electrical conductor, in the nature of a wire or strip, having a substantially uniform conductivity embedded within a walkway to be traversed by the handicapped person. The system also including a proximity for detecting the conductor in which the detector may be in a shoe of the user or a tip of a walking cane. The system further includes a signalling element, in the nature of a vibrator, in electrical communication with the detector such that, through the presence of such vibration, the visually handicapped person is able to determine his proximity to the electrical conductor to determine that he is proceeding in a proper direction within or along the walkway. The signalling element is preferably provided with a switch, for example, a mercury switch, so that the shoe or cane circuit will become energized only upon the occurrence of movement or motion of the shoe or cane within which the proximity detector is located.
