Abstract: A cable hoist controller used with mechanized multi-story scaffolding includes a load-bearing support plate and a prime mover secured to the support plate, the prime mover having a rotational power output shaft in direct mechanical communication with an angular velocity modification gear. The controller also includes a primary gear in driven gear relationship with the velocity modification gear, and journalled to the support plate; and a driving sheave having an axial width and further having a circumferential surface including a circumferential cable-receiving groove, the sheave journalled upon a common axis of rotation of both the primary gear and the sheave, the sheave secured in fixed rotational relationship with the primary gear. Also included is a cable situated within the cable-receiving groove of the sheave and a sequence of rollers, each having a circumferential cable-receiving groove.
Abstract: A new use of the botanical substance Capsaicin entails application of Capsaicin to pre-malignant basal and squamous cell lesions of the epithelium. Advantageous treatment, including atrophication and de-coloration of such lesions is accomplished. The substance, which is applied topically, is employed in a potency, or concentration, of about 0.010% to 0.200% (w/w). Capsaicin in the same potency can also be employed in a base of aloe vera.
Abstract: There is provided an analog dental torque wrench in which, at a given level of torque imparted to a dental work object, force communicated by a compression spring through an interface impart against a ball bearing will cause rotation of a handle and medial hollow cylindrical segment of the wrench off of the bearing to an off-axis position relative to a longitudinal work axis, disabling a wrench head, precluding further application of a torque to the work object, and causing shear of the wrench to occur either to the left or right of the longitudinal axis, and external to the mouth of the patient.
Abstract: A method of manufacture of 4-nitro-m-phenylenediamine sulfate is taught. The resultant compound is useful in the dyeing of keratinic fibers, particularly, human hair. It exhibits reduced toxicity and potential for damage to such fibers, and is easier to remove than are other known compounds.
Abstract: A dental implant includes a rigid body having axially symmetric and radially circumferential spiral pitch surfaces, in a range of about 22 to about 28 pitch surfaces per axial inch, an upper concave bevel surface above each pitch surface, which is longer than a lower bevel surface beneath each pitch surface, and an intersection of each plane of each pitch surface, and each plane of each lower bevel surface defining a total included angle in a range of about 90 to about 130 degrees, the rigid body having minor thread diameters at intersections, between pitch surfaces, of the upper and lower bevel surfaces, the pitch surfaces and the minor thread diameters defining, at any axial radius of the rigid body, a ratio of thread pitch to thread depth in a range of about 1.25:1 to about 1.40:1. Each of the lower bevel surfaces define a total included angle in a range of about 20 to about 30 degrees relative to any given axial radius of the implant at a minor thread diameter.
Abstract: A method of oven cooking includes the steps of (a) providing an oven housing including at least one opening for removal and insertion of products to be processed, the opening provide a continuous and uninterrupted fluid communication between a hollow interior of the housing and the atmosphere; providing, within the oven housing, a continuously rotatable horizontal food item support panel having a high thermal capacity reservoir; (c) providing, beneath the food item panel, a heat source in thermal communication with a bottom or interior surface of the panel in which heating capacity of the source increases progressively as a function of increase of radius from an axis of rotation of the food item panel; and (d) providing, at an upper and distal location within the oven housing and above a plane defined by the food item panel, at least one infrared radiant heating source to transmit infrared radiation downwardly to a distal area of the rotating supporting panel to define a region of intensified heating.
Abstract: A constructional component for a wall structure capable of resisting high gravity and lateral loads, both uniform and cyclical, is defined by a partially hollow building block having a generally solid rectangular exterior configuration in which one entire end surface of the building block exhibits a positive deep key geometry and the opposing end surface exhibits a negative deep key geometry, complemental to the positive geometry of the opposite end. Deep key interlocks also exist between opposing horizontal block surface. As partition between vertical cavities of the block narrows in the negative vertical direction. There is resultingly created a substantially rigid and load-resilient interlock between vertical and horizontal complemental surfaces when joined as components of a wall structure.
