Patent number: 4064373Abstract: A line circuit for providing line control between a central office or PBX line and the key telephone station subscriber instruments. The line circuit responds to ring currents to activate suitable signalling at stations having access to the called line. The circuit responds to a station going off-hook following ringing to provide the well-known responses. Call holding is also controlled by the line circuit. Within the circuit, the ring response is activated by a capacitor, the same capacitor being used to time out and terminate ring on a failure to respond and also to time the release of the circuit from the central office line.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1975Date of Patent: December 20, 1977Assignee: International Standard Electric CorporationInventors: Edouard Pinede, John Fraser Litser

Patent number: 4054870Abstract: A telephone-type ringer assembly with an improved volume control operable from the exterior of the closed housing in which the ringer is contained. The volume control comprises an eccentric control wheel for one gong to settably vary the distance from the striker to one gong. The setting of the gong is controlled by a detent pivoting the control wheel with the detent position being controlled by a rod having an eccentric connection to a setting control on the housing exterior or directly through a suitable slot in the base which does not require the rod and attached lever. The ringer is designed to be mounted to the base directly on bosses molded onto the ringer frame. This mounting alternatively allows a detent spring extension to project through the bottom of the base for direct control, eliminating the need for a linkage.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 1976Date of Patent: October 18, 1977Assignee: International Telephone and Telegraph CorporationInventor: Eugene Barber

Patent number: 4041465Abstract: Disclosed is a wholly electronic system for either testing or changing the state of a bi-stable circuit element such as a crosspoint of a switching matrix under the control of a central processor (CPU). A maximum of 256 groups of 128 points may either have the condition changed (driven) or the condition read (scan) by the apparatus shown under the control of a processor such as a 16-bit CPU. Interfacing between the CPU and the switching matrix is a bi-directional multiplex gating and decoding tree network having at its outer extremities the points. Each point is represented by an address comprised of bits representing word, basket, group and level. By addressing a point and then providing a control indication as to whether the condition of a point is to be read or whether the condition of a point or group of points is to be changed, the points can be readily scanned or driven according to instructions received from the CPU through a logic unit or controller.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1976Date of Patent: August 9, 1977Assignee: International Telephone and Telegraph CorporationInventor: Howard Jeffery Conerly

Patent number: 4041305Abstract: Disclosed is an outdoor luminaire employing as its external lens, panels of one-way reflecting glass. During the day, or with the interior lamp unlit, the panels provide an opaque outer surface reflective of the surroundings. With the lamp lit, the panels act merely as lenses passing the light emitted by the interior lamp. In order to make the luminaire opaque, diagonal baffles are provided to extend from each corner of the luminaire toward the lamp and lamp prismatic refractor. These baffles tend to produce four separate compartments with opaque interior walls to prevent the lamp and internal components from being visible when the lamp is unlit. By making the baffles reflective, a further enhancement of the internal masking is effected while further enhancing the optical characteristics of the luminaire when lit.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1976Date of Patent: August 9, 1977Assignee: International Telephone and Telegraph CorporationInventor: John Richard Dean

Patent number: 4032724Abstract: Within a key telephone system, there is provided a circuit for completing a direct signalling path from a first station to another station in the system. By depressing a button at the first station designated with identifying indicia of the other station, a direct speaking connection is made from the first station to the other station. The first station may be an attendant's position with direct key appearance for each station to which the attendant is to have direct access. In a preferred form, the called station has a loudspeaker associated with the station instrument. In this instance, a direct call results in a signalling tone directed to the loudspeaker, following which the attendant can converse with the speaker-equipped station. With an attendant's position, depression of a direct station key automatically places a line to which the attendant had been connected on hold.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1975Date of Patent: June 28, 1977Assignee: International Telephone and Telegraph CorporationInventor: Coy Edwin Matheny

Patent number: 4021618Abstract: Disclosed is a feature for use in a subscriber digital multiplexer interfacing between a central telecommunications office (CO) and a plurality of remote terminals, each remote terminal serving a number of subscribers. Calls from and to lines at the same remote terminal are identified over a special network at the central office for the purpose of by-passing the speech channels to the central office and thereby freeing the central office equipment and two channels for use in processing other calls. The special network or intra link network is activated after the called station has responded to a call. First, a check is made to see whether a station at the same remote terminal has originated a call. A tone is then sent out over the line to determine whether the call originated and terminated at the same remote terminal. If both lines are from the same remote terminal, the call is transferred from the speech channels to intra link channels as controlled at the central office over signalling channels.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1975Date of Patent: May 3, 1977Assignee: International Standard Electric CorporationInventor: Walter Kenneth Wurst

Patent number: 4015812Abstract: An apparatus for selectively positioning an automotive vehicle seat is disclosed. The apparatus is adapted to be powered by an electric motor drive, such as a motor with multiple armatures or by using separate motors or by using clutch activated members driven by a single motor. Output of the motor drive is transmitted through respective gearing to lead screws within tracking structures at both sides of the seat to translate the seat horizontally. The motor drive output is also transmitted to operate individual lead screws for the vertical seat movements. To provide elevational movement of the front and rear ends of the seat, separate mechanisms from the motor drive to front and rear end lead screws are provided, these mechanisms being distributed along the seat width. These lead screws cause rotation of respective individual torsion bars at the respective front and rear ends of the seat. By the construction shown, rotation of a torsion bar raises or lowers the respective seat end.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1975Date of Patent: April 5, 1977Assignee: International Telephone and Telegraph CorporationInventor: Max Otto Heesch

Patent number: 4010332Abstract: An intercommunication link for a multiple link key telephone system with a combination lamp-button on each handset for each available link. In each link, a line seeking intercom service is sensed to operate a relay in the link selected. A lamp flash signal on the lamp of the selected link is initiated. In this condition, all other links are disabled and none can be accessed when one link is in the lamp flashing condition. The called local number of the desired intercom station is dialed and when the called station line is answered, a second relay in the selected link operates to release the first relay. On operation of the second relay, a steady lamp indication is sent to both stations in the conversation. Other free links may be accessed at this time. Thus, only during this intercom signaling phase are the remaining free links affected.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 1975Date of Patent: March 1, 1977Assignee: International Telephone and Telegraph CorporationInventor: Coy Edwin Matheny
