  • Patent number: 7618578
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a concrete block in form having a resilient insert forming a cavity in which the block is cast and a rigid support for the resilient insert. After the block has cured, the form is inverted. One or more areas of the insert are tethered to the support so that at least a portion of the insert can fall a short distance from the support. The weight of the cast block sufficiently deforms the insert to allow the block to fall free from the insert. When the form is again inverted to its upright position, the insert falls back into the support and returns to its original shape.

  • Patent number: 7414380
Abstract: A rechargeable apparatus is provided for being recharged by an power source. The rechargeable apparatus include a rechargeable battery and a secondary inductive coil excited by the power source. The secondary inductive coil includes a first inductor having a first axis, a second inductor having a second axis, and a third inductor having a third axis. The first, second, and third axes are mutually orthogonal. The first, second, and third inductors produce a power output in response to said power source. The secondary inductive coil is electrically connected to the rechargeable battery whereby charging energy is coupled from the power source to the rechargeable battery regardless of an orientation of the secondary inductive coil to the power source.

  • Patent number: 6719105
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved pad retraction spring (30) adapted for use in a disc brake assembly. The disc brake assembly includes an anchor bracket (12) adapted to be secured to a vehicle component, a brake caliper (108) adapted to be secured to the anchor bracket, a pair of brake shoes (18, 20) carried by the disc brake assembly and adapted to be disposed on opposite axial sides of an associated brake rotor (106), and an actuation device for selectively moving the brake shoes into frictional engagement with the rotor. The anchor bracket includes a pair of outwardly extending arms (14, 16) and at least one of the arms has an opening (60) formed therethrough. The pad retraction spring is carried by the disc brake assembly and is operative to move the brake shoes from engagement with the rotor when the brake shoes are in a non-braking position. The pad retraction spring includes a central mounting portion (32) and a pair of outermost spring arms (38, 38′).
