  • Patent number: 8191953
Abstract: A vehicular console storage system has a pivotable lid and a striker movable with the lid. A pawl is mounted in a fixed location for selectably receiving the striker, wherein the pawl is movable between a latching position and a release position. The pawl holds the striker so that the lid is held closed when in the latching position, and the pawl has a cam surface. A spring-loaded cam follower is at least in partial contact with the cam surface and is movable between an extended position and a retracted position to provide a first resistance to motion of the pawl from the latching position to the release position. The first resistance is easily overcome by manual manipulation by a user. A movable lever has an activated position and a deactivated position, wherein the activated position interferes with movement of the pawl from the latching position to the release position. An inertial sensor is provided for moving the movable lever to the activated position in response to a predetermined acceleration.

  • Patent number: 8000070
Abstract: The invention relates to a control circuit which serves for security-critical control of a consumer with an inductive load portion, to be connected to a direct voltage source, and a method for failure control. It is in this case assumed that the control circuit has a power driving assembly, a free-wheeling assembly and a reverse-connection protected assembly. In order to increase the probability of failure recognition, this control circuit is extended by a method for failure control. For this purpose the semiconductor switches of the assemblies, each formed by a MOSFET, are individually driven. The different switching statuses are checked by a diagnostic device which processes voltage values to be read out at outputs of the control circuit. In this way failure-free functionality and also possible causes of failure in the control circuit can be diagnosed.

  • Patent number: 7628756
Abstract: An emboli detector device receives a blood flow in a perfusion circuit. The connector-like device has a rigid plastic smooth body hermetically sealed from the blood. There is a calculated thin, but rigid window formed as part of the flow-through tubing wall to allow ultrasonic waves to interrogate the flowing blood. A dampening material is included in the ultrasound path to adjust the acoustic levels to an applicable range to monitor emboli. The device incorporates a mechanism to securely hold the transducer during operation and a sensing system for automatically informing a control system of which one of several standard perfusion circuit tubing diameters is being used. The ultrasound echoes detected by the transducer are provided to a controller which detects the emboli and provides a detection signal to warn the surgeon or other operating room personnel of the embolic event.
