  • Patent number: 7360943
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a display unit, a back light assembly having a light source, a light guiding plate, a light focusing portion, and a mold frame divided into a first frame and a second frame. The mold frame receives the display unit and the back light assembly. The first frame receives the light guiding plate and the light focusing portion and the second frame receives the light source. A reflection sheet is integrally formed at an inner surface of the second frame so as to perform the function of a lamp reflector. Accordingly, a lamp cover is not required so that the number of parts and the manufacturing cost are reduced. A lamp can be exchanged by simply separating the second frame from the mold frame, so failure of the light source caused by friction with other elements is reduced when exchanging the lamp.

  • Patent number: 7358149
Abstract: Substrate isolation trench (224) are formed in a semiconductor substrate (120). Dopant (e.g. boron) is implanted into the trench sidewalls by ion implantation to suppress the current leakage along the sidewalls. During the ion implantation, the transistor gate dielectric (520) faces the ion stream, but damage to the gate dielectric is annealed in subsequent thermal steps. In some embodiments, the dopant implantation is an angled implant. The implant is performed from the opposite sides of the wafer, and thus from the opposite sides of each active area. Each active area includes a region implanted from one side and a region implanted from the opposite side. The two regions overlap to facilitate threshold voltage adjustment.

  • Patent number: 7358947
Abstract: An apparatus of driving a liquid crystal display (LCD) includes a gray voltage generator generating a range of gray voltages that correspond to different LC light transmittance levels. These gray voltages, along with image data, are fed into a data driver. The data driver converts the gray voltages to a data voltage that properly generates the image indicated by the image data. The gray voltage values are chosen from a wider range of values than the pixel voltages, and this conversion may include determining a conversion factor based on the relative range sizes. This conversion may also include calculating the voltage difference between the previous data and the current data and adjusting the data voltage according to the magnitude of this difference. Generally, the larger the voltage difference, the larger is the data voltage magnitude that is needed to bring the pixel voltage to the target voltage within limited time.

  • Patent number: 7356010
Abstract: A communications protocol in a system such as an IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN multi-hop system providing transmission scheduling information is disclosed. The transmission scheduling is formatted within a CF?Poll+Data+SIPS data frame transmitted by the point coordinator (PC) which may be any one of the access point (AP) nodes transmitting in turn as dictated by the scheduling parameters within the scheduling information parameter set (SIPS). The SIPS comprises an offset field, the time left for the presently functioning PC; a delay field, where an AP delays functioning as a PC; and the interval field, the time allowed for an AP to function as a PC. The subsequent scheduling of assigned transmission slots by providing boundaries for the transmission frames through SIPS eliminates collisions resulting from multiple units transmitting simultaneously, thereby supporting interactive media and voice communications on WLAN multi-hop systems.
