  • Patent number: 6847238
Abstract: An output circuit for outputting data with reduced simultaneous switching output skew includes N counts of output buffers and a comparator. The N counts of output buffers receive N counts of bit signals, respectively. At least one of the output buffers includes a delay unit for processing one of the bit signals into a delayed bit signal with an adjustable delay period in response to a delay signal, a pull-up unit electrically connected to the delay unit and a source voltage, and selectively enabled to output the delayed bit signal as a high level, and a pull-down unit electrically connected to the delay unit and a ground voltage, and selectively enabled to output the delayed bit signal as a low level. The comparator is electrically connected to the N counts of output buffers, compares the N counts of bit signals sampled at a first time spot and a second time spot, and generates the delay signal according to the comparing result.

  • Patent number: 6832556
Abstract: Passive coatings accelerate burning at interfaces between rapidly burning propellants and thermally conductive or endothermic inert surfaces. The coatings, useful in firearm cartridges, firearm chambers, and solid rocket motors, reflect infrared energy from the combustion gases to reduce heat loss to the case or chamber and to accelerate ignition of the propellant. The reflective coating has a thermal breakdown temperature higher than the propellant ignition temperature. Firearm cartridges and chambers may have radial shoulder configuration that focuses a shockwave below a bullet base to reduce heat loss to the bullet and support bullet retention in the neck for a longer period of time.

  • Patent number: 6820351
Abstract: An enhanced apparatus and method for cleaning, drying, and disinfecting brine shrimp eggs is provided. The apparatus may have a blower and a furnace that provide pressurized, dry air to a screening device. The screening device may include a vibrating screen designed to release detritus while retaining viable cysts. The dry air may convey the cysts upward and suspend them within a containment vessel. The containment vessel may have a lower, narrow section and an upper, wide section; the larger airflow velocity within the narrow section suspends the brine shrimp eggs while the remaining detritus moves upward, into the wide section, in which the airflow velocity is lower. The air suspension rapidly dries the cysts to maintain a high percentage of viable eggs. Ultraviolet lights disinfect the cysts within the narrow section. An extractor with a cyclone separator draws material from the wide section and removes viable eggs from the detritus.

  • Patent number: 6793790
Abstract: An automatic sample collection system for use with an electrophoretic slab gel system is presented. The collection system can be used with a slab gel have one or more lanes. A detector is used to detect particle bands on the slab gel within a detection zone. Such detectors may use a laser to excite fluorescently labeled particles. The fluorescent light emitted from the excited particles is transmitted to low-level light detection electronics. Upon the detection of a particle of interest within the detection zone, a syringe pump is activated, sending a stream of buffer solution across the lane of the slab gel. The buffer solution collects the sample of interest and carries it through a collection port into a sample collection vial.
