  • Patent number: 6074129
Abstract: An apparatus and method for securing a screed plate to a frame member of a screed assembly is disclosed. A leading edge portion of the screed plate is secured to the frame member by a number of fastening assemblies each of which includes an upper fastening block, a lower fastening block, and a bolt. The upper fastening block is welded to the frame member, whereas the lower fastening block is welded to the screed plate. Rotation of the bolt causes the fastening blocks, and hence the frame member and the screed plate, to be secured to one another. The bolt is disposed at an angle relative the screed plate thereby allowing access thereto from a rear portion of the screed assembly. Such a configuration allows the screed plate to be exchanged without the need to remove the screed assembly from the tractor associated with the paver. Such a configuration further allows the screed plate to be exchanged without the need to remove a number of deflector plates associated with the screed assembly.

  • Patent number: 6059201
Abstract: A crop sprayer includes a number of wheels, a chassis supported by the number of wheels, a boom frame supported by the chassis, and a boom arm segment. The boom arm segment operates in a first mode of operation in which the boom arm segment is maintained at a fixed position relative to the boom frame and a second mode of operation in which the boom arm segment is allowed to freely pivot relative to the boom frame. The crop sprayer further includes an actuator supported on the boom arm segment. The actuator is movable between a pivot-preventing position and a pivot-enabling position. The boom arm segment operates in the first mode of operation when the actuator is positioned in the pivot-preventing position. Movement of the actuator from the pivot-preventing position to the pivot-enabling position causes the boom arm segment to operate in the second mode of operation. • Patent number: 6061393
Abstract: Method and apparatus for non-invasive testing of digital communications systems. Amplitude measurements are made for multiple frequencies of a multi-frequency communication system, converted to the time domain. An adaptive filter output is matched to the time domain representation to characterize the channel. Impedance mismatches may be precisely located using this technique. An error signal representing a difference between a signal transmitted through the channel and a received signal is estimated and analyzed. The error signal is separated into components corresponding to contributions by wide band noise, residual phase modulation, and residual amplitude modulation. Identification and removal of narrow-band interferers may occur prior to this separation. Bit error rate and system margin computations employ a Monte Carlo simulation of the various error sources. This provides a well refined estimate of bit error rate and system margin.
