  • Patent number: 5137160
Abstract: An add-on shelf for athletic or school lockers having hinged first and second planar shelf members. The edge of the first shelf member is hingedly affixed along the length of the second shelf member, the precise hinge point being adjustable to accommodate differing width lockers. Tabs on the first shelf member engage slots on the second shelf member to form the hinge. A plurality of slots are provided along the second shelf member to facilitate the above-noted width adjustment. Releasable latch means lock the shelf members is fixed planar orientation. Rubber abutment feet are provided along the outside edges of the shelf members to engage the locker walls. The shelf is installed by forming an obtuse angle between the shelf members, placing the shelf assembly into the locker, then, forcing the angle open until the shelf members are in the 180 degree planar locked position.

  • Patent number: 5133596
Abstract: A safety unit combining eye and hearing protection in which retention of earcups on the head of wearer is by resilience of separate side arms carrying the earcups. The resilience is resisted by a provision of a rigid frame to spectacles, or a rigid beam to goggles. Snap fitting of arms to the frame or beam enables use of the arms with either spectacles or goggles. The spectacle lens or goggle visor is separate from the rigid frame or beam.

  • Patent number: 5089072
Abstract: A catalytic converter block is wrapped in a loose laminate of plastics material and a mat fibrous material, the plastics material being secured to the block at one end and continuing beyond the mat of fibrous material to cover same completely. The plastics material is secured under tension so as to compress the fibrous material to facilitate fitting in a casing for the converter block.

  • Patent number: 5089752
Abstract: A high frequency PWM power supply for luminous tubes including a low power constant frequency, uniform pulse width generator which charges the intrinsic input capacitance of an insulated junction power FET thereby switching a source of DC voltage across the primary of a high voltage transformer. A current sense resistor and load current compensator discharge the FET gate capacitance upon attaining a predetermined average luminous tube load current. The secondary power supply output includes a series capacitance to minimize tube end discoloration particularly prevalent in mercury luminous tubes. A ground fault detector employing the intrinsic secondary capacitance and transformer core with a dual-peak detector thereby providing enhanced accuracy and ground fault reliability.

  • Patent number: 5069541
Abstract: A safety spectacle which allows for easy fitting and removal of lens parts to cater for individual requirements, including provision of single or twin lenses comprises a frame which is apertured to receive a lens or lenses of the spectacle and having abutment means over at least part of said aperturing which present retention faces to inside and outside surfaces of said lens or lenses, and clip means releasably locatably engageable with the frame and cooperable with the lens or lenses to retain the same in the spectacle frame in conjunction with the operation of the abutment means.
