  • Patent number: 4923349
Abstract: The threaded split coupling nut system includes a threaded split coupling nut and coupling clamps. The threaded split-slip nut coupling has conventional nut shape but is split. The gripping nodules on the body are positioned parallel to the rotational center line of the split-slip nut coupling. The gripping nodules are formed as an integral past of the conventional and old slip nut coupling design. The gripping nodules are connected to or formed on the outside surface of the threaded split-slip nut coupling and the gripping nodules project outward in a radial direction from the rotational center line of the split-slip nut coupling. The conventional threaded split-slip nut coupling has been divided into two equal parts along a plane containing the rotational center line.

  • Patent number: 4898757
Abstract: A new and improved fire block textile material comprising a carrier means and a textile material means that provides a cover in a first state and a fire block barrier in a second state. The textile material includes a wool yarn material formed as the face layer of the textile material which is convertible by heat from a fire into a fire barrier layer. Wool yarn material is connected to and carried by an under construction material or carrier means. Said carrier means supports the wool yarn material in its first normal state as a textile and supports the charred portion of the wool yarn material in its second charred state as a fire block layer. The wool yarn material has a structure which permits it to bead on exposure to the flux of heat from a fire. The bead recedes or travels along the yarn away from the source of the heat while the fire barrier layer acts as a fire block.

  • Patent number: 4895184
Abstract: A fuel injection system for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine in which combustion air is fed through an air flow meter to produce an input force whose strength is proportional to the mass-volume of the air. This input force actuates the valve member of a valve mechanism to whose input is supplied fuel at constant pressure, the valve member being displaced to an extent determined by the strength of the input force. The valve mechanism includes a fuel output chamber in which the pressure of fuel therein is a function of valve member displacement, this pressure being applied as a countervailing force to the valve member to cause it to assume a null-balance position at which the resultant mean fuel pressure yielded by the output chamber is proportional to the mass-volume of the combustion air, thereby attaining optimum fuel-air ratio conditions throughout a broad operating range.

  • Patent number: 4883040
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for increasing the output in terms of miles per gallon attainable by a conventional internal combustion engine. The improvement in m.p.g. is the result of a fuel vaporizer unit which utilizes engine collant and exhaust gases in heat exchange relationship to vaporize raw fuel. The gas vapors are collected within the vaporizer unit and then directed to the carburetor wherein it is united with air prior to entering the intake manifold. It has been found that running an engine on a mixture of gas vapors and air produces significantly improved mileage over that otherwise attainable. An additional advantage of the vaporizer unit is the resulting reduction of the amount of pollutants released into the atmosphere due to the complete and total combustion of all the vapors entering the combustion chambers.

  • Patent number: 4862514
Abstract: An improved hybrid electronic radio repeater comprising an antenna means for receiving a select, narrow frequency band of radio wave signals, the radio wave signal(s) being transmitted from discrete sources wherein the radio wave signals contain source, status and control information. A radio frequency amplifier means filters and amplifies the radio signals and passes them to a mixing means. The mixing means, including a local oscillator means, combines the radio frequency signals with the local oscillator signals to produce intermediate frequency signals. The intermediate frequency signals are narrow filtered causing tuning by local oscillator tuning means. An intermediate frequency amplifier means detects and amplifies the IF signals and generates a signal strength level indication in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 4859329
Abstract: The disclosure pertains to an oil decontamination and water recycling system which is designed to prevent oil, grease, and fuel contamination of ground or surface water and to return the clean water in a single pass for reuse. Water contamination results from pressure or steam cleaning of grit, scale, oil, grease and fuel contaminated equipment. The system is a closed loop separation, filtration and absorption system which removes these contaminants and most other petroleum products. The free oils are discharged to a holding barrel and the solids are removed from the settlement tank and drained off from the centrifugal separator. The petroleum based contaminants such as oil, grease and fuel are absorbed mechanically by a cartridge filter for easy disposal.

  • Patent number: 4856223
Abstract: A fishing lure detector and method of binding foam or textile material to plastisol. The fishing lure detector member made of foam or textile material is for improving the fishing lures. The fishing lure detector means is connected to a fishing lure body at a position adjacent or in front of the fishing lure hook to aid the fisherman in detecting when a fish strikes the lure and in turn aiding the fisherman to set the hook in the fish. The fishing lure detector member includes resilient open cell plastic material that may be integrally connected to the body of a plastic worm lure or connected to the body of a hard lure. The open cell plastic material is engaged by the fish striking the body of the fishing lure and transmits a tug signal along the fishing lure. The fishing lure body when constructed of a flexible or soft thermoplastic such as plastisol or a polyvinyl chloride allows both the fishing lure body and the detector member to stretch longitudinally with one another.

  • Patent number: 4848014
Abstract: The invention relates to a frame assembly wherein the frame and viewing area are integrally formed of clear plastic or plexiglass eliminating the need for a separate glass pane. The front frame area is provided with a roughened surface to reduce visibility therethrough while the inner margin is slightly bevelled to accentuate the center viewing area. The back of the frame assembly is provided with a recess for receiving a plastic backing plate having two-way tape on each side. The backing plate, with the picture or document attached to one side, is inserted into the recess on the back of the frame assembly. After the backing plate and picture are firmly inserted into the recess a seal is formed around the periphery of the backing plate to prevent moisture or foreign matter from entering. Subsequent removal of the second peel-off tape exposes a second adhesive coating on the outer surface of the backing plate to permit the frame assembly to be attached to any desired surface.
