  • Patent number: 4549838
Abstract: A method for quickly manufacturing a connector plate of varying design strength in a minimum size plate for joining wooden members which approximates the ideal connector plate for that particular design, thereby making it unnecessary to use plates of greater strength than required. The plate is produced with a controlled number of teeth extending transversely outwardly from one major side of the plate in varying patterns. The new and improved method includes feeding sheet metal stock of predetermined width through a die having a plurality of punches that are controlled for relative movement with respect to the stock, striking the sheet metal plate with the die at predetermined intervals to form the particular desired pattern of teeth extending from the plate and leaving a plurality of longitudinally extending slots formed in the plate, and cutting the plate when the desired total length of the plate is reached.

  • Patent number: 4533131
Abstract: A portable, manually or motor operated machine for separating continuous multiple ply business forms into individual stacks, each having a single ply while simultaneously removing the carbon paper for disposal. The device includes a housing, a pair of separating rollers, a carbon paper winding reel that is manually or motor driven, and carbon sheet guide bars positioned strategically relative to the rollers which allow for efficient, rapid separation of the continuous business form. An attachable accessory allows separation of carbonless multiple ply business forms into two stacks of single plies. The drive shaft of the carbonless separator accessory replaces the carbon paper winding reel, and includes one or two pairs of belt driven wheels that rest on the separating rollers. The machine may be independently mounted on a table top, or be used in conjunction with a mateable floor stand.

  • Patent number: 4525950
Abstract: A receptacle usable as a flower vase, and especially adapted to present the illusion of being filled with a liquid to a level called the "illusion line." The vase has an inner tubular insert sealed to an outer receptacle at the common rim of the outer receptacle and tubular insert. The outer receptacle and tubular insert define between them a cavity or space which can be filled with a transparent fluid. In use, artificial flowers or any decorative material that one might wish to store dry can be placed within the inner tubular insert, and the liquid within the cavity will present the illusion of the receptacle being completely filled with liquid, and the decorative material being immersed in this liquid.

  • Patent number: 4518402
Abstract: A reusable air filter system for providing permanent, self-charging, electrostatic filter stages that are easily cleanable for re-use. The filter system may be used on air conditioners, furnaces, and grease hoods. A frame is circumscribed about the edges of a plurality of polypropylene filter elements. At least one stage of the filter is three dimensional in shape and folded over on itself to retain its filtering characteristics and to provide a dual biasing device for use with the filter stages upstream of the three dimensional filter. The folded three dimensional filter is not creased, thus providing an additional biasing element in the filter system.

  • Patent number: 4516744
Abstract: A ground handling system for lifting, supporting, maneuvering, and transporting aircraft fitted with skid-type landing gear comprising a dolly assembly of tandem wheel assemblies, a yoke assembly, and a detachable jack assembly. The jack assembly utilizes a modified, standard, hand-operated hydraulic jack mounted on a platform straddling the skid tube to provide over-center lifting force to existing fixed wheel attachment strong points on the skid tubes. An adjustable inverted U-shaped lift member translates the vertical thrust of the piston of the jack below the platform to the skid tube. An adaptor pivotally mounted to the lift member grasps and accommodates unevenly-mounted attachment points. Two jack assemblies are utilized to lift the aircraft generally simultaneously at opposing attachment points which are generally at the plane of the center of gravity of the aircraft.
