    Abstract: A short coupled airplane with variable wing lift comprising a fuselage that is free of the conventional tail assembly and has a wing structure comprising a plurality of short span wing segments spaced apart longitudinally of the fuselage with the forwardmost wing section being located forwardly of and above the level of the aircraft center of gravity, and the rearwardmost wing section being located rearwardly of, and below the level of the aircraft center of gravity. The wing sections at their projecting ends on either side of the airplane are connected by vertical airfoils each equipped with a rudder. The wing sections along their trailing edges are each equipped, on either side of the fuselage, with full span, vertically swingable members that combine the functions of flaps and elevators (and are thus called eleflaps). The eleflaps and rudders are respectively moved in unison to elevate, lower, and steer the aircraft.

A major cycle is pulsed at intervals with variations in frequency. The variations in each major cycle represent minor cycles.     Abstract: A combination key ring and note holder device comprising a miniature clipboard of indented end configuration having opposed ends indented inwardly of the board, a U type resilient clip member that grips the clipboard and has one of its legs pivoted to a stud adjacent one end of the board, and adjacent the clipboard indentation at that end, to pivotally mount the clip member for swinging movement in the plane of the clipboard for movement between a note clipping position in parallelism with the clipboard, and a release position in which the clip member may be disposed to one side of the clipboard, with the clip member being proportioned to frictionally slide its bight portion into a force fitted interfitting relation with the indentation at the board other end to releasably hold the clip member against shifting movement.     Abstract: A secondary recovery process using injected air to pressurize the formation and maintain mobility of the reservoir oil by diluting the oil with carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is produced as a by-product of air injection, either by auto-oxidation of carbonaceous materials in the reservoir rock, or by ignition of oil in the reservoir. Efficiency of oxidation is observed by testing O.sub.2 content of the effluent gas; it is desirable to hold the oxygen content in the effluent gas to less than 3% by volume in the effluent gas. When this content cannot be reached by auto-oxidation, it is necessary to ignite the oil.

The transducers act through transmitting wedges made of a material to be inefficient as a medium through which ultrasonic sound may be sent such that a significantly improved signal to noise ratio results.

    Abstract: An improvement in the measurement of accelerated corrosion rate when measured on two duplicated electrodes in accordance with U.S. Pat. No. 3,694,324. Difference in free electrode potential between said electrodes is first determined. A means is introduced for varying the ohmic resistance ratio of the isolation resistors through which the cathodic polarizing current is passed to said electrodes. The cathodic current is then applied at a selected rate of increase from zero while said ratio is adjusted to maintain said difference in potential. The cathodic current is then removed and said electrodes are allowed to return to said difference in potential. Measurement is then continuously made of the relationship between corrosion current measured on said electrodes and said cathodic current increased in said manner.

    Abstract: A method of chemical machining utilizing selective plating techniques to form a metal component from sheet metal sheets, in which each sheet is degreased, rinsed in deionized water, and thoroughly dried, then is coated with a positive photoresist. The photoresist is cured, and then the image of the component to be formed is photographically applied to either side of the sheet utilizing photomasks, the photographically exposed photoresist is removed from the sheet, and the sheet etched to provide the basic component configuration. Selective plating is effected by further photographically exposing the photoresist of the sheet that overlies the portions of the sheet to be plated, by utilizing photomasks delineating the areas to be plated, after which the freshly exposed photoresist is removed, the sheet baked to better condition the resist for plating, and then suitably electroplating the areas of the sheet metal thus exposed. After plating, the completed component is soaked in acetone to remove the resist.
