  • Patent number: 6992722
Abstract: An integrated Closed Circuit Television (“CCD”) camera assembly is disclosed which is compact, weather resistant and tamper-proof. The camera assembly includes a housing base, a housing cover, a variable focal iris lens, a glass window, a CCD circuit board, an AC-to-DC converter circuit board, and a power input and a video output combined as a single cable. The components are attached to each other with a number of support rods which are inserted through each of the components and fastened with screws. The connection is sealed with o-rings, washers, a sponge and epoxy to protect the unit from moisture and dust. Tamper-proof screws are used to minimize the danger of human interference. A sun shield which is placed over the housing cover may also be used providing further protection from the elements.

  • Patent number: 6983741
Abstract: An adjustable pitching machine is disclosed which generates a rise ball, or a drop ball, or a curve, or a slider, or a forkball, or a fastball, or other suitable pitches, or to produce a ground ball with or without topspin or side spin, or a fly ball with or without topspin, or side spin for fielding and fly ball practice. The pitching machine may also pitch tennis balls without topspin or sidespin to a tennis player during practice. The pitching machine may include a shield to prevent the hitter, or fielder or tennis player from observing the settings of the pitching machine and preparing for the next pitch prior to pitch delivery.

  • Patent number: 6931800
Abstract: The devices are classified as a passive Supplemental Damping Devices, and as the name indicates they are used to supplement and increase the damping in structures. Increasing the damping is a desirable property, because it improves and enhances the performance of the structures. The devices are intended to be non-gravity loads carrying devices and are made of High damping Rubber that is bonded to Steel, however, some of them are capable of carrying substantial amount of gravity loads, if needed, and can be designed even to carry more. They are placed within the Structure's frame to dissipate energy produced by Earthquakes, Wind, or any other similar hazard. Examples of the placement are on the top of Bracing members or Shear Walls, in the Bracing members themselves, at the intersection of Bracing members, or at the Joints of Beam to Column connections.

  • Patent number: 6758230
Abstract: A novel airplane shelter provides a plurality of arched vertical support members arranged axially along a line corresponding to the fuselage of an airplane to be sheltered. A cantilevered beam is attached to the apex of each arched vertical support member, forming a “spine” along the top of the aligned arched support members. The cantilevered beam is attached at one end to the rearwardmost arched support member, and the opposite end extends forwardly past the forwardmost arched support member to a point corresponding to the forwardmost point of an airplane to be sheltered. Separate lateral support members are placed at points corresponding to the wingtips of the airplane. The result is an open frame that defines a volume capable of enclosing an airplane. A covering material is placed over the open frame and stretched taut over the entire structure.

  • Patent number: 6594371
Abstract: An articulated telescopic microphone boom assembly is disclosed. The articulated telescopic microphone boom assembly includes a first hollow cylindrical telescoping boom attached to a hollow hinge assembly providing articulation with a second hollow cylindrical telescoping boom. The hollow hinge assembly includes a locking mechanism to fix the first hollow cylindrical telescoping boom at several predetermined angles in relation to the second hollow cylindrical telescoping boom. The first and second hollow cylindrical telescoping booms are each extended in a telescopic fashion and are fixed into place at a desired length. A microphone coupling means is secured to the one end of one of the cylindrical telescoping booms. An audio cable assembly is ensleeved within the articulated telescopic microphone boom assembly. The audio cable assembly male audio coupler is mounted in the handle and the audio cable assembly female audio coupler is mounted in the microphone coupling means.

  • Patent number: 6491237
Abstract: A fuel injector nozzle is disclosed which solves a long-standing problem in the industry of reducing polluting engine emissions. The nozzle has a needle which alternately blocks and leaves open spray holes for delivering fuel to the combustion chamber. The needle is received in a cavity where the injector needle seats. Machining the seat of the cavity causes a sac at the nozzle tip where the unburned fuel causes the polluting emissions. Minimizing the sac volume minimizes the polluting emissions. The present invention discloses a nozzle formed with a seat having an apex located at the bottom of a sac. The design of the present minimizes the sac volume and the sac volume is closer to zero volume than any prior design.

  • Patent number: 6206074
Abstract: An adjustable finial mounting bracket apparatus generally comprising a first bracket, a firs t flange, a second bracket, a second flange, a knob, and a screw. The first flange and second flange extend outwardly from the first bracket and the second bracket, respectively, and are adapted to engage the lips of a headrail for a curtain or drapery. The first bracket and the second bracket abut each other and are attached together by a screw. Each bracket is adapted to longitudinally move with respect to the other, thereby providing the adjustment capability for attachment onto headrails of varying sizes. The surfaces of both the first bracket and the second bracket are corrugated so that detent movement is provided when sliding first bracket relative to second bracket, and greater holding strength of the apparatus on the headrail is achieved when the screw is tightened.

  • Patent number: 6195818
Abstract: An apparatus that provides for the quick and easy installation and removal of Roman Tub Spouts onto a water fitting comprising a water spout, a quick connect member, a trim escutcheon, a hub, a pair of deck nuts and a lock washer. The quick connect member screws into a Tee fitting, or the like, in the plumbing system. The hub screws into the base of the spout and slidably engages the smooth end of the quick connect member. The trim escutcheon is disposed between the spout and hub to provide support to the hub and to conceal the hub while providing decorative ornamentation to the apparatus. Once the spout and trim escutcheon are properly positioned on the quick connect member, a set screw fastens the assembly in place. The deck nuts are positioned above and below the tub surface to hold the apparatus in place on the tub surface.
