Abstract: A tape roller bearing is provided that prevents the development of an air film between the roller surface and the tape. The spool surface is made from porous material so that air flows through the spool surface. The porous material vents air uniformly over the roller surface, and the tape remains in direct contact with the roller, even at high speed. The speed of the tapes movement can be determined by measuring the speed of movement of the spool surface using an encoder disk and an encoder module.

Abstract: A shoulder harness is made of straps forming a figure eight having a criss-cross strap configuration across a worker's back. Two adjustable sized loops are formed which hang under the worker's arms. A hook is threaded into each loop. A wide tension buckle is mounted from the hooks via carabiners, thereby centering the tension buckle in front of the worker. A web lift strap about six inches wide is threaded into the tension buckle. A second worker threads the opposite end of the lift strap into his tension buckle. The lift strap is placed under a load and carried by the two workers over rough surfaces that dolly wheels couldn't handle. Alternate embodiments include a central ring to join three or more workers' straps together, a hip carry mode which joins the two loops at a hip, and a two-strap mode for carrying loose objects.

Abstract: Both positive and negative wind loads acting on the surfaces of standing seam roofing often exceed the design capabilities of a particular metal roof, causing the standing seam interlocking vertical seams to disengage. This often results in the roof panels blowing off the roof, causing damage to the roof, the building contents and possible danger to people in the vicinity. A transverse bar is provided across the standing seams of the metal roof. Clamps hold the transverse bar onto the standing seams. At the midsection of each flat panel section of the metal roof a brace descends from the transverse bar. The brace must have a flexible foot member to press down on the panel, otherwise the brace would puncture or otherwise damage metal roof panel. The brace may have an adjustable height adjustment mechanism. Various clamp, bar and foot embodiments are disclosed, all of which provide a structural anti-lift bracket on the roof panel.

Abstract: The present invention has a safety hood which is pivotally mounted to the body of the knife at the front end. The body is pivotally mounted to a spine at the back end. The blade is removably mounted on the spine such that the hood covers the blade when the knife is closed. The hood is biased closed and has a latch to hold it closed unless the latch is released. The user depresses a button, which moves the latch, releasing the hood to push up when the user presses the hood against a working surface. The hood's rotation, and therefore the about of blade exposed, is controlled by an adjustable depth assembly. The adjustable depth assembly has multiple settings, allowing the user to control the cutting depth of the knife.
