Abstract: Low-foaming industrial cleaning compositions comprising water; (A) at least one carboxylic acid; (B) one or more aromatic, water soluble or dispersible, non-ionic surfactants; and optionally, one or more of the following: (C) one or more salts of carboxylic acids selected from the group consisting of carboxylic acids that are the same as component (A), different from component (A) and mixtures thereof; and (D) an amount of hydrotrope material sufficient to produce a stable homogeneous solution or dispersion of components (A) through (C) in water; (E) a pH adjuster; (F) one or more polyhydric alcohols; and (G) one or more preservatives.
Abstract: A continuous alkoxylation process for the production of polyether polyols is disclosed. The process comprises the use of a plurality of reaction modules each having an outer tube and an inner tube with annular chamber between them. A spiral reaction tube is spaced from the inner tube and winds around the inner tube within the annular chamber. The spiral reaction tube includes an inlet and an outlet, each of which extend through said outer tube. A heat exchange medium flows through the annular chamber and controls the reaction temperature in the spiral reaction tube. The process comprises continuously forming an initial reaction mixture of at least one alkylene oxide and an initiator having at least one reactive hydrogen which is reactive to the alkylene oxide.
Abstract: In a process for preparing dendritic or highly branched polyurethanes by reacting diisocyanates and/or polyisocyanates with compounds containing at least two groups which are reactive toward isocyanates, at least one of the reactants contains functional groups having a different reactivity compared to the other reactant and the reaction conditions are selected so that only certain reactive groups react with one another in each reaction step.
