Abstract: A supporting frame 10 of a door with an integrated side impact guard beam 22 is made of high strength steel. The outer panel 28 of the door will be close to the side impact guard beam. All the interior units of the door, such as lock and window structure 34–37 with window frame 37, are mounted on a beam structure 30. The beam structure is then mounted on the frame 10 so that the window structure will be between the frame 10 and the beam structure 30.

Abstract: A vehicle door has a supporting press formed frame (10) of high-strength steel that has two standing hat beams (13, 15) interconnected by an upper horizontal hat beam (14), a lower horizontal hat beam (16) and intermediate side impact guard beam (22). The hat beams have their crowns (12) directed towards the interior of the vehicle and they carry an outer panel (28) by their outer side flanges (17). The standing hat beams (13, 15) have a profile height on at least portion (23, 24, 28) of their length that overlaps the corresponding pillar (30, 34). Thereby, in a frontal crash, the frame of the door can transmit force from the A-pillar of the vehicle to the B-pillar.

Abstract: In a liquid downhole drilling machine, the guiding bushing (31) for the drill bit is rotatably journaled in the housing (11, 12) and, via a one-way coupling (29), coupled to a turning sleeve (22) that has axial ridges (24) that bound a number of chambers (25, 26, 27) and form turning pistons for turning the turnable sleeve to and fro. A number of these chambers are coupled to be pressurized and depressurized simultaneously with said pressure chamber (47) with the piston area (46) for urging the piston hammer (30) forwards. As a result, the drill bit (13) will be indexed a defined angle between each impact so that the button inserts of the drill bit will change contact points with the rock between every impact and fragment the rock efficiently. The drill tube is not rotated.

A tension cable (7) is used to introduce tension forces into the holding arms (2). Abstract: A vehicle door has a supporting frame (10) substantially in the form of a rectangular annular hat beam (13–16) of high-strength steel, which, with its outer side flange (17), carries the outer panel (28) of the door and has its crown (12) towards the vehicle interior. The lower rear portion of the outer side flange (17) has a bolt 32 arranged to fit in a hole (35) in the pillar (34). In case of a side impact, the bolt will make the pillar participate in the energy absorption. The frame (10) is comparatively shallow and it can therefore have a high yield strength and all the other elements of the door can be mounted on the inside of the frame, which make them easily available for service.

Abstract: A storage lift has at least one chain drive (14, 15) used for loading and unloading storage goods carriers (4). Each chain drive has two chains (16, 17) that are laterally and vertically offset from each other and are interconnected by coupling members (22, 23). Abstract: Methods and systems for improving the operation of a transmission for an automotive vehicle are provided for modifiying the original hydraulic circuits to increase the capacity or holding ability of the low and reverse clutches when the transmission is shifted into manual low gear to slow down a moving vehicle, to provide a quick and smooth apply of the low and reverse clutches when the driver selects manual low when the vehicle is moving at a relatively high road speed, and to permit the connection of two low hydraulic circuits to feed torque converter and cooler/lubrication circuits by application of relatively low fluid pressure to assure that the necessary pressure required to connect the circuits will be properly applied.
Abstract: A chain, a chain wheel and a chain transmission for a lifting gear in accordance with the present invention increases the dynamic resistance of a round steel chain that is primarily intended for use in combination with a lifting gear. Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods and systems for improving the operation of transmissions for automotive vehicles, and in particular the “factory installed” automotive transmissions installed by the original automobile manufacturer. The methods and systems in accordance with the present invention modify both the structural components and the hydraulic circuitry of the original automotive transmissions to enhance the operation of the modified transmissions. The improvements to the operation of the “factory installed” transmissions, and in particular the Allison transmission, include modification of the flow control valve to increase line pressure during lockup; modifications to the rotating clutch module to increase the torque held by the clutch and prevent clutch slippage, and modifications to the trim valves to adjust the pressure applied to the clutches for more efficient operation of the transmission.
Abstract: Railroad beds require regrading in order to permit for an increased axial load. There are often cables or tubes embedded in the roadbed at the roadbed sides, making regrading difficult. In accordance with the present invention, material is moved by suction to form pits at each side of the track at intervals along the railroad bed, and a laser camera is used to obtain information relating to the profile adjacent to the pits and the positions of the embedded cables or tubes. This information is saved, and used to control a device for mechanically excavating material from the railroad bed sides without damaging the embedded cables or tubes and grading the railroad bed. A laser measuring device is provided for reading the railroad bed profile.
Abstract: A storage lift has shelving columns having lateral panels provided with support sections (5) for storage goods carriers. Each column has four stays (4) configured as mountable and dismountable panel elements (7). The panel elements have a sandwich-type structure consisting of a contoured plate (12) and a support plate (13) connected to it to increase the rigidity of the support sections (5). The structure of the storage width facilitates and accelerates construction of storage lifts on site.
Abstract: A wheel chain has a running lattice structure which is tightened by a pressure cord (8). The pressure cord (8) is connected to a lateral lattice structure arranged on the outer side of the vehicle tires by connecting members (6). Each of the connecting members has a connecting loop (10) for a member of the lateral lattice structure, and a guiding ring (9) for the pressure cord (8). Abstract: A method for working a concrete surface uses a water jet ejected from a nozzle of a nozzle holder. The nozzle holder reciprocates in cutting sweeps and moves together with a working apparatus in steps between the cutting sweeps. The water jet is directed in directions of the sweeps, and at the end of each sweep, the nozzle holder is swung into a new angle of attack for a subsequent cutting sweep. At the end of a cutting sweep, the nozzle holder begins to swing backwards simultaneously as its linear velocity increases to permit the target area to remain substantially unchanged at the start of the stepping of the working apparatus so that the water jet makes a cut forwardly in the stepping direction. The stepping and change of angle of attack are completed simultaneously immediately prior to the commencement of a subsequent cutting sweep.
Abstract: A component (1) for regulating or modifying the effective length of a round steel chain (22) has at least one cross recess consisting of a longer recess (12) and a shorter recess (6). The chain can be threaded into the cross recess. The component also has a pin (11) for fixing the component in a particular position in relation to the chain (22). The pin forms a blocking element and has at least one groove (14) which forms the end of the longer recess when the cross recess is free. During normal operation, the groove is forced by a spring (10) into a position in which the pin (11) blocks the cross recess.
