  • Patent number: 7199348
Abstract: There are many, many inventions described herein. In one aspect, what is disclosed is a digital camera including a plurality of arrays of photo detectors, including a first array of photo detectors to sample an intensity of light of a first wavelength and a second array of photo detectors to sample an intensity of light of a second wavelength. The digital camera further may also include a first lens disposed in an optical path of the first array of photo detectors, wherein the first lens includes a predetermined optical response to the light of the first wavelength, and a second lens disposed in with an optical path of the second array of photo detectors wherein the second lens includes a predetermined optical response to the light of the second wavelength.

  • Patent number: 6455386
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing integrated circuits including high and low voltage MOS transistors. This method includes steps of forming insulated gate structure forming lightly-doped drain/source regions, depositing an insulating layer; forming a mask above the gates of the high voltage transistors which extends laterally beyond said gates; etching the insulating layer to leave spacers on the edges of the low voltage transistor gates; implanting a dopant adapted to forming heavily-doped drain/source contact regions of the high and low voltage transistors; and forming in a self-aligned way a metal silicide layer on the drain/source contact regions of all transistors, as well as on the gate contacts of the low voltage transistors.

  • Patent number: 6373672
Abstract: The present invention relates to a static and monolithic current limiter and circuit-breaker component including, between two terminals, a one-way conduction current limiter, a sensor of the voltage between the terminals, and a mechanism for inhibiting the conduction of the current limiter when the voltage sensed exceeds a given threshold.

  • Patent number: 6196790
Abstract: A seal assembly for use in an intershaft seal includes a first seal that seals to a seal plate on an inner rotor shaft, a second seal that seals to a seal plate on an outer rotor shaft, and an intermediate seal that is supported by a stator assembly and seals to the first seal and the second seal. The intermediate seal may include a seal segment affixed to the stator assembly, a ring seal between the seal segment and the first seal, and a ring seal between the seal segment and the second seal. An intershaft seal with this seal assembly has less flex than a prior art intershaft seal and thereby results in greater durability and less seal wear.

  • Patent number: 5939650
Abstract: A method of inspection for a fluid to determine its suitability for use as a dielectric medium in an EDM system and a method of maintenance for an EDM system having a dielectric fluid include generating an indication of the density of a sample of the fluid, providing at least one reference associated with at least one measure of suitability of the fluid, and comparing the indication to the at least one reference to determine, in the case of the method of inspection, the suitability of the fluid for use in the system, and in the case of the method of maintenance, whether to replace the fluid in the EDM system.

  • Patent number: 5924699
Abstract: A seal for a turbine blade in a gas turbine engine has a sealing portion with two subportions, where the subportions are longitudinally offset from one another, so that the seal may provide sealing for adjacent turbine blades having longitudinally offset inner platform surfaces. The offset between the sealing subportions should correspond generally to the offset between the platform surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5865364
Abstract: A linear friction welding process provides two members to be joined together into a final product, where each of the members has a major outer surface, where one of the two members is a stub which is surrounded, at least in part, on its outer major surface by a collar. The stub is generally restrained without substantial restraining contact on its outer major surface by tooling, thereby eliminating the risk that tooling will cause physical or chemical damage to the final shape. Thereafter, pressure and relative movement are applied between said members to linear friction weld the members together. A collar comprises a major inner surface surrounding a portion of a major outer (lateral) surface of a member to be linear friction welded, and further comprises a radially outer surface which extends a surface to be interfaced of the member. The collar has an outer lateral surface which may be curved in order to prevent stress and cracking of the collar during linear friction welding.
