  • Patent number: 5302289
Abstract: This invention generally provides a process and apparatus for the separation of material and more particularly, the separation of material(s) using a separation fluid and based upon the relative buoyancies of the components of the material solution. This invention more particularly provides an apparatus and a process in which the feedstock is first introduced into a separation hopper wherein partial separation occurs by the less buoyant solid particles contained in the feedstock descending to and entering a separation chamber. The separation fluid flowing upwardly in the separation chamber is adaptable to match the settling velocity of the desired solid particle separation.

  • Patent number: 5254040
Abstract: This invention generally provides an apparatus and a method for allowing the use of an existing handball court for playing both the game of handball and the game of squash. This invention includes an apparatus and method by which a rear squash wall is fixed at the appropriate location in an existing handball court for use during the play of squash. To then allow the play of handball, the rear squash wall is then detached, moved to the rear of the handball court, lifted to a position over the rear-end of the handball court and suspended behind and above the area of play used for handball. The reverse is performed to convert the handball court back for use for squash.

  • Patent number: 5241657
Abstract: An information display system and method for displaying information on multiple information display means. The information display system is generally comprised of a system controller, one or more direct controller, multiple information display units and one or more display lines, which facilitate the transmission of operating power and information to the information display units. The system controller combines each unit of source information with its own address code, thereby forming an addressed information unit. The system controller transmits the addressed information unit to a direct controller designated by said information unit's address code.

  • Patent number: 5193812
Abstract: A golf club with a laser alignment system which can be built into the club or which can be attachable and detachable. The golf club includes a shaft, a grip and a clubhead. The alignment system includes a laser beam generator and facilitates the emission of the laser beam in a direction perpendicular to and above the clubface and above the desired location on the clubface for striking the golf ball. Also provided is a way to attach the laser beam point of emission to the clubhead in a position above the level of the ball and such that it is projected over the vertical height of the golf ball and perpendicular to the clubface.

  • Patent number: 5121676
Abstract: A barbecue grill which cooks food at a lower and more evenly distributed temperature and which can be effectively used for a large variety of barbecuing and cooking activity, including cooking meat, fish, vegetables, bread and the like. More particularly, a barbecue grill and cooker including a housing, a hood, a source of heat, a grease deflection and collection system which collects the grease and natural juices for later use without burning them and a heat distribution system that includes a tubular enclosure, multiple distribution conduits and which isolates the source of heat from the environment within the cooking area.

  • Patent number: 4881472
Abstract: A furnace system for the automatic, continuous and efficient ignition and combustion of pelletized or similar fuel. An electric-arc ignition means responsive to a thermostat is combined with a non-conductive refractory fire pot with air passageways on the bottom surface of the fire pot, two electrodes configured relative to said fire pot and a system control means, for controlling and sequencing the operation of the system elements. A system control means is also disclosed which de-energizes the fuel feed device if the temperature in the combustion chamber exceeds a pre-determined value, automatically re-energizes the fuel feed device once the temperatue falls back within acceptable levels, and which de-energizes the fuel feed device if the temperature measured in the combustion chamber falls below a pre-determined value.
