  • Patent number: 6808022
Abstract: A method of installing an internal latch profile in an existing tubular string does not require the use of a packer. In a described embodiment, a method of latch installation includes the step of deforming an interior surface of the tubular string after the tubular string is positioned in a well. In another described embodiment, a method of latch installation includes the step of cutting into the interior surface of the tubular string.

  • Patent number: 6655407
Abstract: A refrigerant charging tool. In a described embodiment, a refrigerant charging tool has two separately formed handles pivotably attached to each other. One of the handles has a container piercing member mounted thereon. Interchangeable spacers are configured for attachment to the other handle, so that a selected one of differently shaped containers may be biased against the container piercing member when the handles are pivoted toward each other.

  • Patent number: 6431225
Abstract: Methods and systems for dispensing a product from a container into a tire are provided. In a described embodiment, a method of dispensing a product into a tire inflation port includes the steps of attaching a flexible conduit to the inflation port and then operatively attaching the conduit to container of the product. A system for dispensing a product into an inflation port of a tire includes: a container having the product pressurized therein, and a valve selectively permitting and preventing flow of the product from the container; and a conduit assembly including a flexible conduit extending between a container connector and a port connector, the container connector being configured for connection to the container for flow of the product from the container into the conduit, and the port connector being configured for connection to the inflation port for flow of the product from the conduit into the tire.

  • Patent number: 6269883
Abstract: A disconnect tool includes a housing that has a first segment and a second segment. A first collet is coupled to the first segment and has a first plurality of fingers, each of the first plurality of fingers is bendable between a first position in which the fingers engage the first segment and prevent relative sliding movement between the first and second segments and a second position in which the fingers do not engage the first segment and do not prevent relative sliding movement between the first and second segments. A first piston is positioned in the housing and has a third position wherein the piston engages and prevents the fingers from bending from the first position, and a fourth position wherein the piston does not engage and prevent the fingers from bending from the first position. The disconnect tool includes means for selectively retaining the first piston in the third position and means for moving the first piston from the third position to the fourth position.

  • Patent number: 6263968
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for completing a wellbore are disclosed. Certain ones of the apparatus and methods use a first packing assembly, a second packing assembly, and a pressurization assembly disposed between the first and second packing assemblies to plastically deform a liner in a radially outward direction via hydraulic pressure. Another method uses a liner having a first section and a second section, and a packing assembly. The first section is deformable in a radially outward direction at a lower pressure than the second section. The packing assembly is used to plastically deform the first section of the liner in a radially outward direction via hydraulic pressure.
