Abstract: A motorized positioner comprising a compact arrangement of two-stage sun and planetary gear sets. The first stage planetary gears are reacted by an internal ring gear of an upper housing. The second stage planetary gears are reacted by an internal ring gear of both upper and lower housings, thereby creating relative rotation between upper and lower housing portions. The drive motor is mounted on the upper housing which comprises the output shaft.
