Abstract: An adjustable rack and clamping apparatus for removably retaining surfboards or the like to the roof of a vehicle, while preventing the theft thereof, includes a plurality of two types of mounting block assemblies that slideably attach to two transversely disposed mounting bars removably affixed to the vehicle.
Abstract: A simple, economical acid rapid method for determining the contaminate particle size appearing in a fluid being filtered includes a filter housing that eliminates fluid bypass with a multi-layered laminated filter disposed therein.
Abstract: A conductive fluid leakage sensor capable of detecting a leak from a first electrically conductive or non-conductive container with a conductive liquid disposed therein, has a second or outer electrically conductive coating surrounding a first conducting or non-conducting inner container. An electrical connection is made between the outer member and to the conductive fluid disposed within the container, so that conductive fluid leaking from the container that comes into contact with the outer electrically conductive coating creates a pulse, which may be sensed by a sensing apparatus providing an indication thereof.
Abstract: A replaceable air filter apparatus suitable for filtering the air in the home includes a frame for affixing the apparatus to the house duct work associated with the heating and/or air conditioning system the frame includes a hinge disposed on one edge, which cooperates with a hinge disposed on a register that may control the flow of air through the duct work and may include adjustable shutters and a device for removably retaining a filter media. The register may be pulled away from the frame for inserting and removing the filter media disposed therein, when desired.
Abstract: A water leakage protector apparatus for appliances subject to leakage includes a first device for detecting water leakage from the water supply line coupled to the appliance and a second device for detecting water leaking from the appliance itself. A control apparatus is coupled to a valve, affixed to the water supply line, is connected to a source of electrical power, and controls the water flowing to the appliance. The appliance is connected to the control apparatus to obtain electrical power for operation. The first and second sensing devices are coupled to the control apparatus so that when a water leak is detected by either the first or the second detecting device the control apparatus stops the water from flowing in the water supply line and interrupts electrical power to the appliance.
Abstract: A massaging apparatus includes a hollow housing having a centrally disposed hollow chamber with an opening at the bottom out of which extends two power driven rollers. A handle is provided on the housing in addition to a hollow extending portion communicating with the central chamber for connection to a vacuum source. A flywheel motor disposed within the hollow chamber is coupled to an auxiliary power source disposed within the hollow housing. A centrifugal squirrel cage fan is disposed on the motor shaft at one end with a driving pulley on the other end of the motor shaft that is coupled to the pair of elongated rollers.
Abstract: A laminated filter material may be used in seamless filter bags in order to increase the strength and filtering ability of a pressurized filter system.
