  • Patent number: 6542195
Abstract: An invalid frame in 60P images supplied from a 60P camera head is delayed by a single frame by a 1-frame delay circuit. A differential between the delayed invalid frame and the valid frame is computed by a subtracting circuit. Of the differential signal, only a portion over a predetermined value is picked out by a level filter. The picked out signal is attenuated to ½ by a ½ attenuator. By adding that attenuated signal to the valid frame by an adder, the invalid frame is superimposed on that valid frame. As a result, a natural picture is obtained.

  • Patent number: 6538694
Abstract: A frame/field converter circuit addition-processes image data constituting respective fields in a ratio corresponding to an image pickup mode or the like and outputs the resulting image data. As a result of this, it is possible to perform addition processing on image data constituting respective fields in an optimum ratio corresponding to an image pickup mode or the like and output the resulting image data. This makes it possible to improve the frequency characteristic and S/N ratio of the image and thereby enhance the quality of the displayed image. A contour compensation circuit performs contour compensation processing with respect to the frequency band of the image data in correspondence with the zoom magnification. As a result of this, it is possible to mitigate the level of the return noises generated in correspondence with the zoom magnification and thereby prevent the deterioration of the frequency characteristic and S/N ratio of the image to thereby enhance the quality of the image.

  • Patent number: 6532939
Abstract: A fuel injector fixing structure for use with an in-cylinder injection type engine is improved to reduce the number of processing man-hours and the number of parts as well as the number of assembling man-hours. In detail, each fuel injector is inserted into an injector fixing hole of a cylinder head, followed by attaching an injector fixing bracket. Then, each connecting portion of a fuel delivery pipe is connected to a fuel inlet of each fuel injector, followed by inserting a common bolt through an fixing boss portion and an injector fixing bracket, and fixing these elements to a common boss portion of the cylinder head. In this way, each fuel injector and the fuel delivery pipe can be fixed in the cylinder head by virtue of a common bolt, thereby making it possible to reduce the number of processing man-hours and the number of parts as well as the number of assembling man-hours.

  • Patent number: 6526881
Abstract: In a printing machine, a tip end of a print sheet 22, which is transferred from a paper feed section 5 synchronously with rotation of a printing drum 16 and a pressure drum 17, is clamped by a sheet clamp section 21 at a rotation clamp position upstream of a press portion on which the printing drum 16 and the pressure drum press each other. The print sheet 22 thus clamped is transferred along an outer peripheral surface of the pressure drum 17 and pressed against a stencil sheet on the press portion. Then, printing is done. The printing machine is provided with a sheet clamp guide member 30 guiding the tip end of the print sheet 22, which is transferred from the sheet feed section 5, to a position on which the print sheet 22 is abutted on a sheet abutment face 21a of the sheet clamp section 21 located at the rotation clamp position.

  • Patent number: 6520796
Abstract: A codable kink protection is formed such that this forms an interference-fit connection with a coding sleeve. The coding means are provided with a through slot, thus allowing the coding sleeve to be pushed over the cable and the flexible bush. The coding sleeve is made of an elastic colored plastic and is shaped essentially complementary to the kink protection housing, in order to achieve a form-fit connection therewith. This coding sleeve can be applied and removed without necessitating special tooling and is excellently visible from all viewing angles.

Abstract: A method of protecting data, stored in a memory device of a computer system connected to a SCSI interface, against, unauthorized access whereby access by the computer system to the memory device is either permitted or refused, depending upon the authorization of a request, by an exchange of information between the computer system and the memory device at the SCSI interface. Authorization is by means of identification of an authorized user. During access by the computer system to the memory device, any kind of operation with the memory device can be blocked, or access permission given for memory readout only, or for readout and recording, or only for recording. The equipment for carrying out the method includes a memory device connected by a SCSI bus to a host computer system, while between the memory device and the host computer system there an additional control unit with authorization block is inserted.

  • Patent number: 6510789
Abstract: A stencil printing machine and a method carrying out a printing operation are disclosed wherein a print sheet is transferred through between an upstream printing drum and a press roller in a pressured state to transfer ink onto an upper surface of the print sheet and is then transferred through between a downstream printing drum and a press roller in a pressured state to transfer ink onto the other surface of the print sheet to perform a both sides printing operation. A printing-drum drive escape mechanism is located to shift the downstream printing drum to a drive escape position to interrupt rotation of the printing drum while retaining the press roller in a separated position away from the shifted printing drum in such a manner that the printing operation under such a condition in a one side printing mode is executed.

  • Patent number: 6507843
Abstract: Emerging patterns (EPs) are itemsets having supports that change significantly from one dataset to another. A classifier, CAEP, is disclosed using the following main ideas based on EPs: (i) Each EP can sharply differentiate the class membership of a (possibly small) fraction of instances containing the EP, due to the big difference between the EP's supports in the opposing classes; the differentiating power of the EP is defined in terms of the EP's supports and ratio, on instances containing the EP. (ii) For each instance t, by aggregating (124) the differentiating power of a fixed, automatically selected set of EPs, a score is obtained for each class (126). The scores for all classes are normalized (144) and the largest score determines t's class (146). CAEP is suitable for many applications, even those with large volumes of high dimensional data. CAEP does not depend on dimension reduction on data and is usually equally accurate on all classes even if their populations are unbalanced.
