Patent number: 5260726Abstract: A pair of non-prescription eyeglasses is mounted on a cantilevered support by a hanger that includes an element constructed of relatively stiff resilient plastic material. Such element includes a relatively wide main section having an aperture which receives the support arm, and a relatively narrow extension. The latter passes through the nose gap of the eyeglasses and is reversely bent to form a loop that surrounds the eyeglass frame bridge. In a first embodiment of this invention a rivet maintains the loop closed and prevents casual removal of the hanger from the eyeglasses. In a second embodiment a snap-type device holds the loop closed. This snap-type closure cannot be opened casually, at least for the first opening thereof.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 1992Date of Patent: November 9, 1993Assignee: Al-Site Corp.Inventor: Michael S. Patent number: 5094462Abstract: A soccer training device including a soccer ball located within a net. The net is attached to one end of a bungee cord and the other end of the bungee cord is attached to a strap which is placed about a person's wrist or ankle. The person kicks the ball within the net and by having the strap fastened to his limb the ball is propelled away from the person and then returned to his vicinity allowing the person to play soccer by himself.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1990Date of Patent: March 10, 1992Inventors: Matthew D. Boyle, Fuller H. Brooks, Barbara L. George

Patent number: 5002384Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring and training eye position under clinical conditions are provided in accordance with the teachings of the present invention. An infrared optometer is employed to measure a patient's corneal and retinal reflection and outputs therefrom are employed to generate tone information and viewable patient information indicative of eye position and the state of focus. A patient is trained until a predetermined proficiency in the voluntary control of eye position is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1987Date of Patent: March 26, 1991Inventor: Joseph N. Trachtman

Patent number: 4819101Abstract: A portable television camera and recording device is provided for generating, monitoring, and recording still and motion picture information. The device is provided within a single housing permitting the housing to be pointed at an object or scene to be recorded. A television camera or flying spot scanner, a television recorder such as a magnetic tape video recorder, and a visual monitor such as a cathode ray tube are supported within the housing. Manually operable controls such as switches which may be selectively actuated to perform such functions as monitoring and/or recording are provided. The major components of the portable unit, such as the television camera, magnetic tape recorder, monitor and electronic control units, are preferably modular and capable of being removed and replaced without difficulty.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1986Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Inventor: Jerome H. Patent number: 4753087Abstract: Adjustable ring structure is provided in accordance with the teachings of the present invention wherein a ring shank is hinged to define first and second arcuate elements having an aperture therebetween. According to one preferred embodiment, a ring top having first and second slider members is disposed within the opening with the first and second slider members slideably mounted within interior groove portions in each of the first and second arcuate elements. First and second arms are provided for connecting the ring top to corresponding locations on the first and second arcuate elements adjacent to the opening to allow the ring top to be displaced to expand and contract the ring shank while an overall round configuration is maintained.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1987Date of Patent: June 28, 1988Inventor: Philip D'Annunzio

Patent number: 4750243Abstract: An hollow sphere, in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the invention, has a slot formed on a somewhat less than semicircular portion of the great circle that separates the sphere into two hemispheres. A shower curtain grommet support is spaced inwardly of said slot to engage a shower curtain grommet and support a portion of the curtain. A pair of diametrically aligned small circles in the plane of hemispherical separation enables the holder to move freely on a shower curtain rod.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 1985Date of Patent: June 14, 1988Assignee: Waterware Inc.Inventor: Terry L. Patent number: 4660945Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing accommodation training under clinical conditions are provided in accordance with the teachings of the present invention. An infrared optometer is employed to measure a patient's accommodation and outputs therefrom are employed to generate tone information and viewable patient information indicative of the state of focus in a rapid manner. A patient is trained at an empirical rate determined by the viewable information until a predetermined proficiency in the voluntary control of accommodation is achieved. Thereafter, stimuli to accommodation, the accommodation convergence reflex and blur cue information are selectively introduced to generalize the voluntary control of accommodation achieved to a conventional environment so that the same may serve to reduce various visual acuity problems in a patient being trained.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1986Date of Patent: April 28, 1987Inventor: Joseph N. Trachtman

Patent number: 4642631Abstract: A circuit produces a control signal which is input through a bi-directional communication device to a removable circuit. The removable circuit is set to a first logic state which is a function of the control signal and thereafter steps through a sequence of logic states with each logic state being a function of the previous logic state. The entire sequence of logic states is represented by a state signal or code word which is a function of the control signal. The produced state signal is compared to a predetermined stored state signal. Access is enabled in response to the production of a proper sequence of logic states, as indicated by the comparison of the produced state signal to the predetermined stored state signal. Security is improved because without knowledge of the control signal input to the removable circuit, an unauthorized user cannot ascertain the code word.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 1986Date of Patent: February 10, 1987Inventor: Stanley C.
