  • Patent number: 6696976
Abstract: A vehicular warning system for use by school buses and/or other emergency vehicles in rural, hilly, areas and extremely low population areas, which provides a short range radio transmission signal broadcast sequentially over all 40 channels of a citizens band radio acting as an audible signal to be picked up by any nearby CB radio turned on. The warning system comprises a transmitter means to be installed on school buses and/or other emergency vehicles that can warn truck drivers of an upcoming situation which would require the truck to slow down or stop. The present system finds special utility in hilly regions where a truck driver cannot see over the next hill, and consequently does not know if he needs to stop.

  • Patent number: 6391961
Abstract: A coating composition includes 1.5 to 4 weight percent of a film-forming acrylic resin having an average molecular weight of from about 235,000 to about 285,000; 4 to 8 weight percent of a film-forming acrylic resin having an average molecular weight of from about 175,00 to about 225,000; 1 to 3 weight percent of solid caustic; and 75 to 85 weight percent water. The film-forming acrylic resins may be copolymers of alpha-beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomers and ethylenically unsaturated esters. A dried coating of the composition is water-soluble. A method for making the coating composition includes heating water from about 140 to about 200° F.

  • Patent number: 6301194
Abstract: An improved insect and rodent repellent device is thermo-electrically powered and provides a means for ultrasonically repelling insects and rodents. The insect and rodent repellent device is environmentally sound and may use a multiplicity of low-grade heat sources for its operation. A heat source activates a thermoelectric device which generates electricity for operating an ultrasonic generator to produce sound frequencies which repel insects and rodents.

  • Patent number: 6000107
Abstract: An improved fastening device is flush-mountable and provides a means for flush-mount fastening a sheeted material to a surface. The flush-mounted fastening device minimizes distraction from an attractive exterior surface. A flush-mounted receiving means embedded in the surface receives a plunger pin which is attached to and extends through the sheeted material so that the sheeted material may be fastened by a means which is flush with the surface.
