    Abstract: A substantially straight rod has on one end a candle flame extinguisher and on the other end an extension for holding a friction-type safety match. The body of the extinguisher may be a cone, a cylinder, or a box-shaped member which has the same longitudinal axis as the rod and with its single opening facing away from the rod with the edges of the extinguisher body surrounding its opening being so contoured that the device is stable upright on a flat horizontal surface. The extension may be in the form of a coil, bent-over part of the rod or as a separate member having an opening of appropriate size and configuration for snugly holding the part of the match away from its head whereby the match head extends outwardly from the device and substantially coincident with its longitudinal axis. The opening for the match may also be employed for hanging the device when not in use. In addition, the extension is adapted to be gripped by the user's fingers for holding the device when extinguishing the flame of a candle.

    Abstract: A cultivator for attachment to the rear of a prime mover has a frame with a plurality of side-by-side soil-working members rotatably mounted on vertical shafts journalled in said frame. A power take off connection drives a crank mechanism and connecting rods interconnect the crank mechanism with arms on the shafts to oscillate the soil-working members in operation. Each connecting rod is connected to alternate soil-working members so that neighboring soil-working members oscillate in different directions. Each soil-working member preferably has four tines in cruciform configuration and a roller is adjustably mounted to the rear of the soil-working members to regulate the latter's working depth.

    Abstract: A sweeping vehicle for sweeping roads and other surfaces comprises a suction mouth located behind a sweeping brush. The inlet portion of the suction mouth is inclined relative to the surface to be swept and faces in a direction towards the brush. Air guide means extending from a trailing edge of the suction mouth approximately parallel to the surface, acts to direct air towards the suction mouth. The arrangement of the suction mouth and air guide means prevents particles of dirt from being discharged from the zone of the suction mouth by a vortex within the suction mouth.

    Abstract: A combination implement has a leading cultivator with fixed tines and a rear rotary harrow with driven soil working tined members. The cultivator has side ground wheels with vertical adjusting means that controls the working depths of the fixed tines. The harrow has a trailing roller that is interconnected to the harrow frame with arms that also have an adjustment feature so that the working depths of the harrow's tined members can be regulated. The cultivator and harrow are linked to one another by a parallelogram linkage so that they can be disconnected from one another and individually connected to the three point lift of a prime mover. When the combination is assembled, a suspended drive shaft of the harrow's driving system is passed through the cultivator and connected to the p.t.o. of the prime mover.

    Abstract: An agricultural vehicle has a wheeled frame and a load-receiving chamber enclosed by a framework. A loading mechanism comprising upper and lower gripper members actuated by hydraulic pistons of a control system is mounted at one end of the chamber near an open side. The gripper members can include curved tines, with or without blades, that can be moved to pick up and load crop material in the chamber. A draw bar is pivoted to the frame laterally thereof. The draw bar can be a hydraulically actuated parallelogram linkage that is connected below the gripper members and pivoted to the frame via a connecting piece linkage so that upon actuation, the frame together with the gripper members can be raised and lowered. A conveyor floor can be located at the bottom of the chamber and one or more rotary spreaders located to distribute material from the chamber. The spreaders, conveyor floor and pump in the hydraulic system can be connected to the p.t.o. of a tractor when the latter is hitched to the vehicle's draw bar.

    Abstract: A cultivator implement has at least one frame portion that houses a row of soil working members connected to driving means which rotates those members about corresponding upwardly extending axes. A supporting frame is designed to overlie and support the soil working members during operation and/or transport of the implement. The supporting frame comprises a plurality of substantially parallel beams that extend transverse to the normal direction of operative travel. The beams are spaced apart and positioned at different levels above the ground and interconnected with plates for strength and to properly support the implement. The beams are of angular, preferably square, cross section so that a diagonal of a beam extends substantially vertical for further strength. A coupling member is interconnected to the beams with struts so that the implement can be attached to a prime mover for operation.

    Abstract: Mold apparatus for the manufacture and molding of structural members such as I-beams and concrete girders which has a permanent pallet supported and maintained in a level condition by parallel beams affixed to a concrete base. The pallet is made up of a plurality of sections mounted on the beams and aligned and rigidly connected together. A pair of side forms are provided on the pallet which are readily removable and replaceable by other forms depending upon the particular structure being molded, each such form having a horizontal foundation part which extends to the edge of the pallet where a strip is welded to position the mold as desired on the pallet. The inner portion of the foundation part merges with a molding part extending upwardly in each form and terminating in an upper flange extending horizontally and outwardly at the top of the form. A plurality of vertical stiffener plates connect the various parts of each form to provide rigidity.

    Abstract: An agricultural implement combination has a forward cultivator with soil working blades that rotate about a horizontal axis extending transverse to the direction of travel and a rear harrow having tined soil working members that rotate about upwardly extending shafts positioned in a row also extending transverse to the direction of travel. The cultivator and harrow each have a coupling member and their coupling members are linked by pairs of arms that cross one another when the implement is viewed from the side. A driving system includes a separate transmisson with change speed gearing for the cultivator and the harrow and the input shaft of the cultivator is connectable to a prime mover p.t.o. A telescope shaft connection bridges the two transmissions so that the blades of the cultivator and the tined members of the harrow can be driven from a single p.t.o. The harrow preferably has a supporting roller at the rear to smooth the soil worked first by the cultivator and then by the harrow.

A horizontal bar connects the tracks about midway on the adjacent sidewalls of the track, the bar having substantially the same width as each track. The bar is provided on its top and bottom with grooves of a V-configuration in cross-section, the grooves extending longitudinally and being centered relative to the width of the bar and providing for the centering of a drill bit for forming an opening for receiving fastening members.

A pick up and feeding mechanism at the front of the vehicle feeds crop to a chamber that is defined by a forward wall, a rear wall, side walls and a top. The chamber is enlarged with its walls bulged outwardly and a conveyor system within the chamber is positioned to receive and move crop received from the mechanism towards the rear of the chamber. The conveyor system includes a floor conveyor that slopes downwardly to the rear and articulated conveyors that coextend upwardly with a portion of the rear wall. The latter portion can be tilted together with the articulated conveyors to a downwardly extending position so that crop received from the floor conveyor can be formed and discharged as a coherent mass of crop intact. The rear wall and top of the chamber can be tilted by hydraulic piston assemblies and the mechanism together with conveyor system can be driven from the p. t. o.

The bumper can be secured to the front upright parts of a bicycle and/or motorcycle frame so that the bumper extends, at least in part, ahead of the front wheel of the cycle. The front of the bumper can be provided with an ornamental design or fanciful part to enhance the overall appearance of the bumper.

The sampler has two insulation boards on opposite sides overlapping the sides to prevent an electrically conductive contact of the sampler with the nearby surfaces of the mold and the electrode. An insulated pipe attached to the top of the sampler forms a handle in its upper aspect and connects conduits and a valve optionally to an argon gas source or a vacuum reservoir.

Cables connect the masts and support two independently operable trolleys between the masts, a hoist on each trolley including a cable connects via a yoke to a section in the loading area and lifts same vertically from a truck therein to at least the story being assembled, and then moves it horizontally to immediately above its ultimate location where it is lowered. A nearby operator, by remote control depending from the trolley, controls its movements to position it precisely, such control being of winches connected to cables for moving the hoist and trolleys. This operator also communicates with the ground by telephone or radio. Each mast has three stays. To raise it, it is laid out horizontally with the cables and stays positioned.
