  • Patent number: 7318136
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing data migration in storage systems implementing the remote copy function, and virtualizing existing storage devices in a new storage system after migrating the existing storage devices. According to the invention when a new storage system is connected to an old storage system destined for replacement, and prior to starting data migration, remote copy configuration information from the old storage system is migrated to the new storage system. This allows either the new storage system or the old storage system, depending on configuration, to maintain an operational remote copy function with a remote storage system during the data migration. Thereafter, data is migrated from the old storage system as a virtual volume to the new storage system while data is being transferred between the new storage system and the remote storage system in accordance with the remote copy configuration information.

  • Patent number: 7318039
Abstract: When the process plan made for execution is corrected based on the process correction condition, the variation amount in each of processes based on the process correction condition is calculated as the probability distribution using the probability distribution data generated by obtaining the probability distribution from the variation-amount prediction value of each of the processes. Thereby, the influence degree on other processes when the process is corrected can be estimated not simply as the propagation of the variation fixed value but so as to be more suited to the actual circumstances in accordance with the attribute information and the past variation patterns of the process.

  • Patent number: 7315960
Abstract: In remote copy systems connected with a dedicated interface, reliability is reduced for the time until the disk system that caused an error will be recovered. Therefore, when an error occurs in a primary disk system, it is replaced with a standby disk system connected to a storage area network. As a result, a remote copy system with high reliability is obtained.

  • Patent number: 7315173
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring an electric field distribution according to the present invention calculates a distribution of electric field intensity and its direction at arbitrary positions on the surface of the electronic apparatus or its circumference with use of data of measurement positions and measurement results of a potential distribution on a surface of an electronic apparatus. Further, it clearly indicates a flow of electromagnetic energy on the surface or in the circumference of the electronic apparatus by applying mathematical treatments to a magnetic field distribution at circumferential positions of the electronic apparatus. Thus, a distribution of high-frequency electric field generated from the electronic apparatus is measured with high accuracy.
