Means for supporting a strip or length of dental floss in tensioned and taut condition for ready use
Patent number: 4004597Abstract: Means for supporting a strip or length of dental floss in position ready for use. The means comprises a handle with a forked member at the end thereof having a pair of spaced arms and a movable anchoring and locking member supported in an opening in the handle. The strip of dental floss has its terminal ends wound around the stem of the anchoring and locking member and is adapted to lie in the longitudinal grooves in the face of the arms and extend across and between the arms, with the opposite terminal ends of the floss secured to the anchoring and locking member. The movable anchoring and locking member is adapted when moved axially into the opening to tighten the strip of dental floss across the forked arms and lock the opposite ends of the strip against sliding on the stem of the anchoring and locking member during use thereof. The handle may be that of a toothbrush so that the dental floss holder and toothbrush are an integral unit.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1975Date of Patent: January 25, 1977Assignee: RB Toy Development Co.Inventors: Sam Kupperman, Dennis I. Patent number: 3992216Abstract: The invention provides a lightweight aggregate for eventual use in making concrete having commercially acceptable compressive strength. Bloating agents of iron oxide serve to greatly expand conventional aggregate under conventional heat treatment. Small beads of heat decomposable plastic may also be mixed with finely divided aggregate base material prior to pellet extrusion after which furnace heat treatment creates a strong, porous pellet. Modifications in handling the aggregate process improve product control and in some of the completed aggregate serve to seal outer surfaces of aggregate against fluid penetration.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 1974Date of Patent: November 16, 1976Inventor: Leon I. Patent number: 3970199Abstract: A display rack so constructed that it may be shipped disassembled and may be readily assembled and interlocked without the use of any tools, bolts, nuts, or extraneous fastening elements. The display rack includes a plurality of shelves or trays each having spaced tracks for supporting a plurality of containers in each track. The shelves or trays are detachably connected to form a tier of such shelves or trays by spacer members which are detachably secured in bores formed in the corners of the trays or shelves. The assembled tier of trays or shelves is detachably supported on an inclined base which supports the tier of trays or shelves in a downwardly and forwardly sloping position so that the containers or cans on the trays or shelves slide forwardly as the foremost can or container is removed by the purchaser. While it is preferred that the tier of trays or shelves be inclined, the same may be formed to provide a horizontal support so that the trays or shelves are in a horizontal position.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1975Date of Patent: July 20, 1976Inventor: Howard J. Patent number: 3958504Abstract: A roasting pan formed of an aluminum foil, in which the base or bottom of the pan is integrally formed to provide spaced upwardly extending projections having rounded top surfaces, which spaced projections form in effect a rack upon which a food product to be roasted is placed so that the product which rests on said upwardly extending projections has minimal contact therewith and elevates the roasting product from the bottom of the pan to permit the liquids, juices, and the like, to flow unimpeded around the bottom of the pan and eliminates the resting of the roasting product in any juices or grease from said roasting product which would otherwise be absorbed by it. By providing the upwardly extending projections as an integral part of the base, the use of a separate roasting rack is eliminated.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1975Date of Patent: May 25, 1976Assignee: E-Z Por CorporationInventor: Myron M.
