  • Patent number: 5360009
Abstract: A disposable spirometer mouthpiece comprises a resilient tubular member, having inner and outer surfaces and a defined wall thickness, the wall of the tubular member having first and second longitudinal zones of reduced thickness and thus reduced strength which allows the spirometer mouthpiece to be collapsed into a flat state for packaging and storage. Preferably, the tubular member is resilient, such that when released from a package, the resilience of the tubular member allows it to resume an essentially cylindrical shape for testing. After testing, the mouthpiece is disposed of and because of reduced zones of thickness, the mouthpiece is easily collapsed to its flat state by the weight of other waste to minimize disposal space.

  • Patent number: 5232378
Abstract: Electrical plug-in connection includes two plug parts to be coupled. Each plug part has a plug housing with a contact element carrier arranged therein, which contact element carrier is outfitted with contact elements and is produced from electrically insulating material. One plug part has an axially parallel pawl with a ratchet, and the housing of the other plug part has an undercut cooperating with this ratchet in the manner of a locking bar. The pawl carrying the ratchet is cut out of and free from the outer surface area of the plug housing by two notches extending substantially axially parallel at a distance from one another and a notch extending transversely relative to the latter. The substantially axially parallel notches extend along a first housing portion to be received by the other plug part and along an adjoining second housing portion. The second housing portion has an outer diameter which is larger than that of the first housing portion.

  • Patent number: 5213181
Abstract: A winder assembly comprises a spindle provided with a threaded portion, a winder removably engageable with the threaded portion of the spindle and a holder for holding the winder in position when the threaded portion of the spindle and the winder are disengaged from each other, the winder being provided with a perforated guide having a diameter of perforation substantially equally to the diameter of the threaded portion of the spindle. Such an assembly may be suitably used for a music box containing an automatic instrument or the like because it can be easily fitted to a music box and used to operate the music box by simply rotating the winder. Moreover, the winder is provided with a hollow section having a diameter or perforation substantially equal to the diameter of the bolt section of the spindle, the winder can be hardly tilted to damage the stopper, or holder, and separated from the spindle to become an unintended hazard to little children.
