  • Patent number: 4756532
Abstract: A game comprises a playing surface having two fields of play. In a first field, a plurality of multiple choice questions are set forth, each choice being identified by a particular symbol. On a second field of play, these symbols are assembled to form a solution which answers a further question. In a preferred embodiment, answers can be selected to the multiple choice questions which will provide an acceptable, but incorrect, answer on the second field of play. In a particular embodiment, the symbols dictated by the choice of the answer to the questions in the first field of play are letters, and the solution formed in the second field of play is a word.

  • Patent number: 4484560
Abstract: A diamond segmented saw blade having a steel center is provided with a plurality of sockets about the rim and a plurality of cutting tip supports having diamond impregnated tips. Each socket is provided with an upper surface inclined upwardly and inwardly and a tapered or wedge-shaped dovetail groove. Each support is provided with a depending tenon. The surfaces adjacent the tenon are inclined upwardly and inwardly complementary to the surfaces adjacent the socket. The tenon is similarly wedge-shaped to fit in the dovetail groove so that the support and socket are firmly interlocked to insure easy and free exchange of diamond impregnated tips.

  • Patent number: 4401019
Abstract: An apparatus for thermochemical treatment of crushed straw and/or dry fodder mixtures comprises a vessel which is vertically mounted and is formed by a series of vertically communicating chambers. A chamber arranged at the top of the vessel is a cyclone-type chamber, is designed for moistening and pre-heating of crushed straw and dry fodder mixture and has a loading opening. A second chamber is arranged under the cyclone-type chamber, is designed for thermochemical treatment of straw and dry fodder mixtures and has a heat distributor communicating by means of a pipeline with a heat carrier source. A third chamber is arranged under the chamber for thermochemical treatment and is an accumulating chamber having an unloading opening. This construction of the apparatus enables the elimination of the step of stirring of straw, considerably simplifies the operation, improves the output and reduces the time for processing of straw and dry fodder mixtures.

  • Patent number: 4397165
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved locking mechanism for a money box assembly. The mechanism includes a fusible plastic cam which acts as a transmission member operatively connecting the lock to locking bolts. The bolts engage with the wall of a housing to which the money box assembly is mounted. The cam is formed of a material having a melting temperature substantially lower than the melting temperature of the material forming the lock. Any attempt to gain access to the money box by melting the lock and then operating the cam by a screwdriver or other tool will be frustrated since the drive cam linkage will have been destroyed or rendered inoperative by the heat thereby breaking the link between the lock and the locking bolts so that the money box assembly remains locked in place.

  • Patent number: 4097586
Abstract: Haptens and antigen derivatives are coupled, through an azo bond, to proteins to form a conjugated material. The conjugate is injected into laboratory animals to raise antibodies which are useful in immunochemically assaying for the original haptens and antigen derivatives. Included among the immunochemical assay methods are radio-immune assays and fluorescence methods.

  • Patent number: 3967351
Abstract: A clasp for an article of jewelry or the like of the type having a latch member engageable with a keeper member for fastening the clasp. The latch member has a resiliently depressible hook portion disposed for movement from a normally extended position to a flexed position. The keeper member comprises a housing having an open end through which the hook portion of the latch member may be inserted or withdrawn when the hook portion is in its flexed position. The housing also includes an apertured wall located to receive the hook portion for engaging the latch member within the housing and permitting the hook portion to move to its extended position for fastening the clasp. The hook portion extends beyond the aperture in the housing wall when the latch member is engaged within the housing, and terminates in an end portion overlying an edge portion of the housing wall forming the periphery of said aperture when the latch member is moved in the direction of withdrawal from the housing.
