Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for initiating a command relating to one network that an electronic communication device may be in communication with, depending on triggering conditions relating to another network that the device may be in communication with. In the method, the device initiates a command relating to a network for a communication device only after satisfaction of a predetermined condition relating to another network. The network may be a 802.11a network; the another network may be a non-802.11a network; the predetermined condition may be detection of a connection to the non-802.11a network; and the command may be to initiate monitoring for a connection to the 802.11a network.

The evaluation device comprises: a substrate; and a pattern imposed on the substrate. The pattern comprises a series of lines in a grid imposed on the substrate wherein when the pattern is viewed through the lens, the series of lines having thickness of between approximately 10 and approximately 150 microns, spaced in intervals between approximately 20 microns and approximately 300 microns from center to center, the pattern is distorted around an area where a defect is present in the lens. With the device, the lens is identifiable as being defective if the pattern appears as a moiré distortion in the area when viewed through the lens.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for selectively reducing power consumption of a communication device communicating with a network. In the method, it comprises the following steps: de-activating at least one communication subsystem of the device during intervals when the device is placed in a power save mode; and while the device is in the power save mode the method re-activates the subsystem in two instances. For the first instance, the communication subsystem is re-activated in relation to a first connection condition, and is then de-activated after a first event. For the second instance, the subsystem is re-activated in relation to a second connection condition and is then de-activated after a second event.

Abstract: A method of controlling an 82Sr/82Rb elution system having a generator valve for proportioning a flow of saline solution between an 82Sr/82Rb generator and a bypass line coupled to an outlet of the generator such that saline solution traversing the bypass line will merge with eluted saline solution emerging from the generator to provide an active saline solution. During each elution run, a plurality of successive concentration parameter values are obtained at predetermined intervals. Each concentration parameter value is indicative of a respective instantaneous activity concentration of the active saline solution. Respective error values between each concentration parameter value and a target activity concentration value of the elution run are computed. Error data based on a plurality of the computed error values is accumulated. Between successive elution runs, at least one performance parameter of the elution system is adjusted based on the accumulated error data.
