  • Patent number: 8341518
Abstract: Generated is a template edition screen on which to display components of a report as modules by OSD by use of icons. One of the icons is selected by use of a pointing device including a mouse. By a drag-and-drop operation, the icon is placed at a desired position in an output format setup area formed in the same screen. The icon is set in a desired size by another drag-and-drop operation. Details of a module shown by the icon thus placed can be set up in a detail setup area in the same screen. Information on a format thus set up is retained as a template through a retention function, and accordingly can be used easily by simply calling the information. Moreover, the retained template can be edited as well. This makes it possible not only to create a new template, but also to modify an existing template.

  • Patent number: 8341654
Abstract: A control unit makes the slot control mechanism execute an failure recovery operation to repeat the insertion operation and the ejection operation alternately for a predetermined amount at a first point of time when the below fact is found, if it is found that there is an error in insertion operation or ejection operation of a slot control mechanism. Afterwards, the control unit makes the slot control mechanism execute an restoration operation for a predetermined amount after a second point of time when the below fact is found, if it is found that the slot control mechanism has returned to normal, thereby making the slot control mechanism return to the state at the first point of time. Then, the control unit makes the slot control mechanism execute the insertion operation or the ejection operation again. With this arrangement, it is possible to ensure reliable insertion operation or ejection operation.

  • Patent number: 8340993
Abstract: A system of hardware and software provides a systematic and systemic method for performing assessment of the effectiveness of different levels within an institution. The system includes template driven definitions that span multiple tiers of hierarchically arranged operating units within the institution thereby providing flexibility and customization to handle a user-definable model of the institution's organization. In particular, the assessment management system may share data in a format that is importable by other management systems. Sharing of data does not necessarily mean the concurrent sharing of data but rather that the data is exported in a format that is transportable to another system. Portions of an assessment project may be shared in this way with other institutions even if the organization levels and other operating units are not the same between the two institutions.

  • Patent number: 8337021
Abstract: A projection type image display device using, in a projection optical system thereof, a flat mirror, which is easy to design and manufacture, as a projection mirror is provided. The projection optical system is a diagonal projection optical system and includes plural lenses. Among the plural lenses, the one disposed closest to the flat mirror has an effective area, along the vertical direction of an image, through which a light beam passes and which is off an optical axis of the other plurality of lenses, shared by the most lenses so as not to allow light reflected from the projection mirror to return to the projector body. A polarization converter using, for example, a quarter wavelength plate is provided at an output surface of a crossed prism to decrease reflectance differences between differently colored light and to thereby prevent the occurrence of color unevenness.

  • Patent number: 8335377
Abstract: Based on an input operation by an operator, a line drawing processor sets a designated region and sets identification points in the designated region to generate first and second identification data, each data representing a colored pixel cluster linked to each of the identification points. The line drawing processor further extracts at least one closed region that is not colored in the second identification data and makes a comparison in area between each closed region and the pixel cluster colored in the second identification data to determine whether the closed region requires coloring or not. For line drawing data, the line drawing processor then applies the same color to the pixel cluster identified in the second identification data and the closed region determined to require coloring.

  • Patent number: 8335112
Abstract: A nonvolatile semiconductor memory device is provided which can accurately read data with low consumption current. The flash memory selects a memory cell according to an external address signal in response to the leading edge of a clock signal and reads data from the memory cell in response to the leading edge of the clock signal in the normal read mode, whereas, in the low-speed read mode for performing a read operation with lower power consumption than that of the normal read mode, reads data from the memory cell in response to the trailing edge of the clock signal. Therefore, data can be accurately read even if noise is generated in response to the leading edge of the clock signal in the low-speed read mode, because the noise level has dropped at the trailing edge of the clock signal.
