Abstract: A system for detecting collusion in a game having a plurality of participating players comprises means for recording, for each player, an amount wagered on each turn of the game in which the player participates, and a corresponding outcome of said wager, the outcome being a complete or partial forfeit of the wager if the wager is unsuccessful, and a profit made on the wager if the wager is successful; a ranking facility operable to derive a tertiary statistic for each pair of participating players, the tertiary statistic being a function of the cumulative wagers by each player in the pair in all turns of the game in which both players have wagered, and the cumulative outcomes of the wagers made by each player in the same turns of the game; and monitoring means for monitoring the tertiary statistic of each pair of players and generating an output when the tertiary statistic exceeds a predetermined threshold, the output being an indicator of possible collusion by the respective pair of players.

Abstract: A system and method for visually establishing a trading strategy are described. According to one method, a trader can position a first icon corresponding to a first order and a second icon corresponding to a second order in relation to a first value axis displayed on a graphical interface. A graphical means can also be used in relation to the icons to show that the icons correspond to a trading strategy. The graphical means can include lines, numbers, or any other user-configurable graphical representation illustrating order precedence, for example.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing a product using a substantially flat mold shell is provided. A substantially flat mold shell converted from a 3-dimensional mold. The substantially flat mold shell has open ends. When the open ends are brought proximate to each other, the substantially flat mold shell has the shape of the 3-dimensional mold. A product having the shape of the 3-dimensional mold is formed from the substantially flat mold.
Abstract: A light-emitting device (LED) is described which exhibits high extraction efficiency and an emission profile which is substantially more directional than from a Lambertian source. The device comprises a light generating layer disposed between first and second layers of semiconductor material, each having a different type of doping. An upper surface of the first layer has a tiling arrangement of inverted pyramidal or inverted frustro-pyramidal indentations in the semiconductor material filled by a material of different refractive index and which together comprise a photonic band structure. The indentations and their tiling arrangement are configured for efficient extraction of light from the device via the upper surface of the first layer and in a beam that is substantially more directional than from a Lambertian source. An enhanced device employs a reflector beneath the second layer to utilise the microcavity effect.
Abstract: The invention provides methods for predicting whether an ovarian cancer patient's tumor will be resistant to chemotherapy. The invention also provides methods for monitoring the effectiveness of treatment, particularly a chemotherapeutic treatment, in a patient treated for ovarian cancer. The invention further provides methods for treating ovarian cancer, by reducing chemotherapeutic drug resistance in said cells. In addition, the invention provides methods of screening compounds to identify tumor cell growth inhibitors in tumor cells resistant to conventional chemotherapeutic treatment regimes.
Abstract: A method and system for reducing the time it takes for a trader to place a trade when electronically trading on an exchange, thus increasing the likelihood that the trader will have orders filled at desirable prices and quantities. The “Mercury” display and trading method of the present invention ensure fast and accurate execution of trades by displaying market depth on a vertical or horizontal plane, which fluctuates logically up or down, left or right across the plane as the market prices fluctuate. This allows the trader to trade quickly and efficiently. The price consolidation feature of the present invention, as described herein, enables a trader to consolidate a number of prices in order to condense the display. Such action allows a trader to view a greater range of prices and a greater number of orders in the market at any given time.

Abstract: The invention provides methods for diagnosing B-cell lymphoma in an animal. In particular, the invention provides methods for distinguishing an animal having diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) with an activated B-cell (ABC) phenotype from an animal having DLBCL with a non-activated germinal-center (GC) phenotype. The invention also provides methods for identifying compounds for treating B-cell lymphoma. The invention further provides reagents and methods for determining the amount of miR-155 in sample isolated from an animal. In this regard, the invention provides a set of oligonucleotides for determining the amount of miR-155 in sample isolated from an animal.

Abstract: A system and methods are shown for providing presence state services in an Internet Protocol network. One exemplary system includes a central presence element configured to track and provide user presence state information, and a local presence element in communication with the central presence element and further in communication with a signaling entity. According to one embodiment, the local presence element is configured to create and manage local presence state authorization data generated based on user presence state information being received from the central presence element. Further, the local presence element is configured to authorize a user service request using the local presence authorization data before providing access to a service requested by the user in the user service request.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula, A—L—B, wherein A is glutamate or a glutamate analog; L is a phosphoramidate or a phosphoramidate analog; and B is serine or a serine analog are described which are potent inhibitors of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PMSA). Such compounds are useful in treatment of prostate cancer; and when chemically attached to a fluorescent dye, can efficiently and selectively label prostate cancer cells for fluorescent imaging.
Abstract: In accordance with a specific embodiment of the present invention, an image is projected upon a surface. The image can include a pattern having a plurality of individual shapes used to measure and map the surface. The plurality of individual shapes include features that are detectable in a direction parallel to the plane formed by a projection axis of the projected shapes and a point associated with a view axis. The image further comprises a feature containing an encoding information for identifying the plurality of shapes individually. The feature containing encoding information can be a separate feature from each of the plurality of individual shapes, or may be a feature integral to the plurality of individual shapes. The feature containing encoding information is oriented such that the encoding information is retrieved along a line perpendicular to a plane formed by the projection axis and the point along the view axis. The use of the feature is used to perform multiframe reference independent scanning.
