  • Patent number: 7908570
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program products are provided for updating the location of a cursor in a display window on a trading screen when certain events occurs. In a preferred embodiment, as market conditions change, the market information may be rearranged on a screen. To reduce the chances of missing a market opportunity by sending orders or managing them, the cursor moves in association with the market information such that the cursor appears fixed to the market information until a user moves the pointer device.

  • Patent number: 7847602
Abstract: A digitally controlled frequency generator includes an oscillator module for generating a first clock signal having an oscillating frequency, a programmable control module operable so as to generate a control signal corresponding to a desired frequency, and a direct digital frequency synthesizer coupled to the oscillator module and the programmable control module for receiving the first clock signal and the control signal therefrom, and for generating a second clock signal having the desired frequency based on the first clock signal from the oscillator module and the control signal from the programmable control module.

  • Patent number: 7480636
Abstract: A system for administering the distribution of digitally distributable works, comprises an encapsulation facility operable to encapsulate a digitally distributable work with predetermined conditions of use to create an encapsulated work, and distribution means for distributing the encapsulated work from a transferor in possession thereof, to a transferee. The encapsulated work has a state which is alterable between an enabled state in which the digitally distributable work is unconditionally enabled for use, and a disabled state in which the digitally distributable work is disabled for use. The system also has a switching means operable to switch the state of the encapsulated work to be in the disabled state upon transfer of the digitally distributable work form the transferor to a transferee, and to be in the enabled state when the predetermined conditions of use are complied with by the transferee.

  • Patent number: 6643340
Abstract: A method and apparatus for symbol timing initialization in a multi-carrier receiver. The method uses phase measurements from a plurality of the individual carriers to make an initial determination of the symbol boundary. The method measures the phases of two carriers, preferably the pilot carrier and one adjacent carrier, and, after compensating for phase distortion associated with modulation of data onto the carrier and phase distortion imposed on the carriers by the channel, determines the symbol timing based on the phase difference between the two carriers. Because a sampling offset results in a phase offset from bin to bin of a DFT, an examination of the extent of the phase offset between two known symbols yields the sampling offset, and thus the symbol frame index.

  • Patent number: 6159935
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preventing irinotecan-induced or camptothecin-induced or camptothecin-analog-induced diarrhea by administering an effective amount of octreotide. In particular the invention concerns new methods, combination formulations and kits to prevent late diarrhea caused by irinotecan or camptothecin, or camptothecin-analog administration.
