    Abstract: There is provided a boot blank for a wading boot or the like, and as well a boot assembled from the boot blank with a leg encircling member for the assembled boot for hip-high wading boots. The boot blank has a novel structure with upper and lower portions, the lower portion having a planar bottom wall interrupted by a recess located generally centrally of the boot blank and along a central fold line with inwardly tapering side portions of the lower part meeting tapering side walls of the upper part. A triangular flap of the upper portion is adapted to be folded about the boot blank to join an opposite wall. The walls may be secured together by stitching or adhesive. The products are preferably made of an elastic cellular rubber-like material, such as "NEOPRENE", preferably provided with textile material laminated on both faces of the rubber material. The shape of the boot blank allows economical and easy manufacture of the boots and in addition, the products are self-supporting when worn by a user.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a navigational system and in particular, provides for the use of one or more vessels as shunters for maneuvering larger vessels in restricted waterways, each shunter comprising a body portion, a pair of clamping arms with each arm being pivotably connected at one end thereof to the body of the shunter with the opposed end of each arm being adapted to engage the hull of the vessel to be maneuvered to thereby exert a lateral force on the hull. Preferably, hydraulic jet thrusters are employed for powering the shunters and the shunter and the vessel to be maneuvered are inter-connected by mooring lines.

    Abstract: There is provided a closure member for containers in which the closure member includes a closure wall, an aperture in the wall for dispensing a commodity through the closure member from the container, and a pair of cooperating tabs, one of which is adapted to be positioned exteriorly of the closure wall and the other interiorly in registry with each other. The outer closure member includes a movable gripping portion. The two tabs are joined together for movement about a fixed axis so as to go into and out of registry with the aperture; the inner tab is made of at least partially flexible material to permit inward bending into the body of a container to rupture a flexible inner sealing membrane. The improved closure device finds use in containers of different types and provides for an improved resistivity against tampering.

    Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for wrapping commodities, which may be compressible, and a corresponding method, in which a commodity is conveyed along a fixed path, a pair of opposed lengths of wrapping material are fed in an opposed relationship and in registry, the commodity is inserted between the opposed lengths of the wrapping material which have a leading end which has been sealed to form an open-sided and open-trailing end envelope, the lateral sides of the wrapping material are then sealed, and thereafter, a bag length is severed from the pair of lengths of wrapping material and sealed. Preferably, the commodity is fed under compression in between the opposed lengths of wrapping material, maintained under compression while the wrapping material is side-sealed and is vacuum-packaged while also under compression.

The thread from each supply of the same is preferably fed to a pre-guide member, through a guide means at the extremity of a tensioning arm, and through an aperture in the rotatable plate. The rotatable motion of the plate will cause the selvage threads to form the desired selvage.

    Abstract: A liquid supply system and a nozzle construction for a jet weaving loom. The nozzle is supplied directly from a public water works at the normal pressure of said water works. The exact amount of water required to propel the weft yarn across the open harness shed of the loom is obtained by a solenoid valve series-connected to the water supply adjacent the nozzle and controlled by an electric pulsator which is adjustable to open the valve for the required time in accordance with the width of the weaving and the type of weft yarn. Synchronization of the operation of the nozzle with the harness motion is obtained by a switch controlling the pulsator and directly operated by a cam connected to a shaft of the main movement of the weaving loom.
