  • Patent number: 7922388
Abstract: A detection device is provided for detecting a temperature of an object, especially of a living being. The detection device may be connected to at least one temperature sensor and is designed to send a current for detecting the temperature to the temperature sensor and to receive at least one temperature signal, which represents a temperature of the temperature sensor. The detection device is designed to generate a temperature signal, which represents the temperature of the object, as a function of the temperature signal of the temperature sensor, and to send same on the output side. The detection device is designed to generate a heating current and to send the heating current to the temperature sensor during a heating time period, so that a total current, comprising the current for detecting the temperature and the heating current, is greater than the current for detecting the temperature, and thus to heat the temperature sensor.

  • Patent number: 7921746
Abstract: An actuating device (1) for a technical system, especially for selecting gears of a shift-by-wire speed-change gear includes an actuating element (2) with at least two shift positions and a locking device (8). The locking device (8) has at least one actuator (7) driven with auxiliary energy and is used to reduce the shifting path of the actuating element (2) or to lock the actuating element (2). The actuator (7) has at least three different shifting states to make it possible to embody the necessary locking functions of the actuating lever with a reduced number of actuators and hence with a comparatively low design effort. Space, weight and costs can thus be saved.

  • Patent number: 7900380
Abstract: An insole which is individually adaptable for insertion in footwear is disclosed. The insole has an upper cradle having an upper surface for contact with a foot. The upper surface is a ETC material. A lower interlocking surface is molded of EVA for cushioning of the foot. A lower cradle having an upper surface with an arch depression and a lower surface with flow domes provided. The flow dome has a flow hole fluidly communicating with the arch depression. A gel layer is placed in the arch depression, the gel layer being moldable via heat. The insole is heated to allow the gel layer to soften. The user then places their foot in on the insole allowing the gel layer to conform to the user's feet. The gel layer then cools and sets in the shape. Excess gel in the gel layer runs out through the flow holes and fills the flow domes. The excess gel is removed and the flow dome is plugged.

  • Patent number: 7896814
Abstract: An electro-impedance tomography (EIT) system (2), with a computing unit (4) and a respirator (1) is described for gentle mechanical lung ventilation especially in case of atelectases. The presence, the extent and/or the spatial distribution of atelectases is detected by the EIT system (2) and sent to the respirator (1) so that the respiration pressure is increased step by step by the respirator (1) until the current image of the lung status corresponds to a first status image of healthy lungs or comes close to it with minimal deviations. The respiration pressure is subsequently reduced again step by step by the respirator (1) until the computing unit (4) detects a reduction of the ventilated lung areas and the respiration pressure is subsequently increased again by means of the respirator (1) to the last value at which no change occurred in the ventilated lung areas.

  • Patent number: 7884510
Abstract: The present invention is used with a stopper mechanism for mechanically stopping the rotation of a motor. A pair of brushes is disposed such that a line which passes through the center of a rotor and connects the centers of the paired brushes is offset by a predetermined angle from a line which connects the centers of paired magnets. A commutator is disposed in such a manner as to be offset from a reference position by the same angle as the predetermined angle by which the paired brushes are offset. The predetermined angle falls within a range between an angle obtained by dividing 70° by the number of pairs of stator poles and an angle obtained by dividing 290° by the number of pairs of stator poles. Specifically, in the case of two stator poles, the predetermined angle falls within a range of 70° to 290° inclusive. In the case of four stator poles, the predetermined angle falls within a range of 35° to 145° inclusive.
