  • Patent number: 6780735
Abstract: We provide a method of doping an Si or SiGe film with carbon or boron. By reducing the silicon precursor pressure, heavily-doped films may be obtained. A single dopant source may be used. The doped Si and SiGe films are of suitable quality for use in a transistor such as an HBT.

  • Patent number: 6509611
Abstract: A wrapped-gate transistor includes a substrate having an upper surface and first and second side surfaces opposing to each other. Source and drain regions are formed in the substrate with a channel region therebetween. The channel region extends from the first side surface to the second side surfaces of the substrate. A gate dielectric layer is formed on the substrate. A gate electrode is formed on the gate dielectric layer to cover the channel region from the upper surface and the first and second side surfaces with the gate dielectric therebetween. The substrate is a silicon island formed on an insulation layer of an SOI (silicon-on-insulator) substrate or on a conventional non-SOI substrate, and has four side surfaces including the first and second side surfaces. The source and drain regions are formed on the portions of the substrate adjoining the third and fourth side surfaces which are perpendicular to the first and second side surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6169412
Abstract: An adjustable tooling pin for a bed-of-nails test fixture used for testing circuit boards (cards) is provided which allows the tooling pin, and thus the card, to be precisely realigned while the card is still mounted in the test fixture. The adjustable tooling pin mechanism comprises a pivot bushing having a channel running from end-to-end into which a slide bar fits. The tooling pin projects from the end of the sliding bar in the z-direction such that a card may be located over the tooling pin. A locking screw fits through an aperture in the sliding bar and the pivot bushing and is threadably engaged into a threaded insert in the test fixture top plate. Hence, the tooling pin, and thus the card, are radially adjustable in the x-y plane by turning the pivot bushing and by sliding the sliding bar along the pivot bushing channel.

  • Patent number: 6141325
Abstract: The invention provides a method for improving network routing calculations for routing data packets or connections between two points in a network through many incompatible sub-networks. Each node in the network comprises a plurality of agents, written in migrating executable code, which represent each sub-network or domain in the overall network. Hence, an originating node wishing to send data over the network need not concern itself with the topology of the links or communicate directly with other sub-networks. Instead, the originating node can calculate a path through the network locally, simply by querying its agents. Hence, this paradigm is based on an object-oriented design, in which the network controller (NC) at one node does not attempt to interpret topological data of a different node or sub-network. Instead, a network controller at the originating node activates the agents which represent the other sub-networks, and queries the agents (a black-box approach).

  • Patent number: 6137299
Abstract: Formation of a contact probe having a pattern of dendritic textured contacts complementary to that of a contact pad array on a bare chip allows formation of simultaneous temporary connections to all contact pads of the bare chip at a much reduced compressional force across the chip. The reliability of such connections at such a reduced force allows screening, burn-in and full functional testing of the bare chip at a high throughput by an automated apparatus to exploit potential economies of "known good die" (KGD) processing for limiting or avoiding repair, rework and further processing of less than fully functional chips for complex electronic packages. The compressional force is sensed by a pressure sensor, the output of which controls the advancement of the bare chip toward the contact probe such that the dendritic textured contacts of the contact probe penetrate the contact pads of the bare chip.

  • Patent number: 6132761
Abstract: The present invention provides a percutaneous absorption preparation which hardly causes the coloration phenomenon and is excellent in the stability of the drug content. The percutaneous absorption preparation comprises a support and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on at least one side of the support, wherein the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contains a percutaneous absorptive drug and at least one of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole and propyl gallate, with the proviso that the percutaneous absorptive drug is not 6-amino-5-chloro-1-isopropyl-2-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)benzimidazole and pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof.

  • Patent number: 6128428
Abstract: A single-type array optical conversion apparatus includes a substrate and an optical waveguide. The substrate has a rectangular area sandwiched by first and second end faces opposing each other. The optical waveguide is formed in the rectangular area and has a single input waveguide exposed on the first end face of the rectangular area, and a plurality of branched waveguides exposed on the second end face of the rectangular area. The optical waveguide is branched into 2.sup.n by repeating branching into two waveguides from the first to second end face of the rectangular area. The input waveguide is optically connected to a single-type optical fiber, and the branched optical waveguides are optically connected to a multi-type array optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 6117511
Abstract: An optical data recording medium utilizing reversible inter-crystalline-amorphous phase changes for recording, reproducing and erasing data as phase changes of a recording film caused by laser beam irradiation. The medium is formed by a lamination of a transparent substrate having tracking guide grooves for laser beam tracking, a base film formed on the substrate, a first protective film formed on the base film, a phase change type recording film formed on the first protective film, a second protective film formed on the recording film, and a reflecting film formed on the second protective film. Thus formed, the medium improves the over-writing characteristics of phase change type optical discs and permits high density recording.

  • Patent number: 6115707
Abstract: The invention provides an address reading apparatus which can read an address correctly even if a correct address is not registered in habitation records to be compared with address word candidates. A supplementary address composition section compares a result of address word recognition with stored contents of a habitation record storage section to produce a read candidate while a word connection address composition section refers to the result of address word recognition and stored contents of an address rule storage section to produce a candidate, and an output discrimination section outputs that one of the two candidates from the supplementary address composition section and the word connection address composition section which exhibits a higher likelihood.

  • Patent number: 6115800
Abstract: A data storing method and a data searching method for the stored data for improving memory employment efficiency of RDS reception data while maintaining searching processing speed of PI code, in the data storing method and the data searching method for the stored data, read-address is set to head of PI area, there is judged whether or not the read-address agrees with PI code of storing candidate, when the read-address disagrees with PI code of storing candidate, the read-address is set to next PI storing position. Next, there is judged whether or not check of all PI code is terminated. When the check is not terminated, the processing after judgement of agreement between address PI code and PI code of storing candidate is implemented repeatedly. When there is no agreed PI code in spite of termination of check of all PI code, the storing candidate PI code and AF data are stored at the next of the rearmost of the AF data.
