Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided a soybean variety designated 92M31. This invention thus relates to the seeds of soybean variety 92M31, to plants and parts thereof of variety 92M31, tissue culture methods and to methods for producing a soybean plant by crossing plants of the soybean variety 92M31 with another soybean plant, using 92M31 as either the male or the female parent.
Abstract: The invention includes a pesticidal compound comprising at least one organic phenolic compound and at least one salt comprising a divalent cation. Preferably, the organic phenolic compound is chosen from Carvacrol, thymol or combinations thereof; and is derived from a natural source, preferably extracted from a member of the family Labiatae or Verbenacea. Preferably the divalent cation is a transition metal salt and more preferably is zinc chloride or zinc sulfate. The invention also includes methods of eradicating, repelling or preventing infestations of pests, including such pests as insects, mites, ova, fungus, or parasites. The methods comprise the steps of preparing a pesticidal compound, combining it with a carrier, and applying it to the affected area.
Abstract: An improved bow sight adjustment mechanism for use with an archery bow is provided. The bow sight adjustment mechanism includes the provision of a dowel pin or similar article disposed between a slide lock and a slide stop to maintain a spaced apart relationship. The dowel pin also extends through the slide with a flexible bushing disposed between the dowel pin and the slide to minimize inadvertent movement of the bow sight adjustment mechanism which could effect the position of the bow sight.
Abstract: In view of the finding that keeping a healthy body is fundamental for overcoming cancer, it is an object of the present invention to provide a nutritious composition that is effective in suppressing mutagenic substances and promoting good health. The composition also suppresses large intestinal cancer. The composition includes dietary fiber in a range of 15 wt % to 30 wt % in respect to the total amount of composition which is contained in dried koji fine powder that includes dead fungi of Aspergillus and active enzyme produced by the Aspergillus.
Abstract: A method for determining improved innate immunity, disease resistance or performance in animals is disclosed. The method involves assays for a genetic differences in the NRAMP1 gene of the animal which is associated with superior disease resistance. Novel NRAMP1 sequence, assays, and compositions for identifying the presence of absence of these alleles are provided.

Abstract: A road scraper includes a frame having forwardly positioned blades extending rearwardly and laterally for directing loose material against a rear blade extending angularly in the opposite direction between rearwardly extending side frame members thereby causing loose material on the road to be redistributed across the road under the rear blade on the back side of the frame. A rearwardly positioned dam blade cooperates with the rear angular blade to cause loose material to be accumulated and then discharged through a passageway between the rear end of the dam blade and the angular blade.
Abstract: A large capacity seed cartridge is provided for a radiation therapy seed applicator. The seed cartridge is adapted for use with the Mick applicator, or other conventional applicators. The cartridge includes a housing with a seed drum mounted therein. A seed track extends around the seed drum. A spring operatively urges the seed in the track towards a discharge opening in the seed drum. A seed pusher rod in the applicator pushes each seed out of the opening and into the needle which is positioned in the patient, such that the seed is implanted into the body of a patient. The seed cartridge can be quickly and easily installed in the applicator and holds 120 radioactive seeds, or more.
Abstract: The present invention discloses devices and methods relating to patterning substrates using chemical functionalization. The methods include covering the surface of a substrate with a first plurality of molecules, selecting at least one internal bond from the plurality of molecules, and reacting the at least one internal bond to form at least one second functional group. Either or both of the functional groups can then be further reacted.
Abstract: The present invention provides polynucleotides and related polypeptides of the enzyme APAO isolated from Exophiala spinifera. Additionally, the polynucleotide encoding for the APAO enzyme can be used to transform plant cells normally susceptible to Fusarium or other toxin-producing fungus infection. Plants can be regenerated from the transformed plant cells. Additionally, the present invention provides for expressing both APAO and a fumonisin esterase in a transgenic plant. In this way, a transgenic plant can be produced with the capability of degrading fumonisin, as well as with the capability of producing the degrading enzymes. In addition, the present invention provides methods for producing the APAO enzyme in both prokaryotic and non-plant eukaryotic systems.
