Patent number: 6591547Abstract: A precast, crushed stone landscape edging module comprises block body, a first, bidirectional interlocking joint, and a second, bidirectional interlocking joint. The block body has a first outer surface and a second outer surface and a first end surface extending from the first surface to the second surface and a second end extending from the first surface to the second surface. A first bidirectional, interlocking first joint is disposed on the first end surface and a second bidirectional, interlocking joint is disposed on the second end surface, wherein the first bidirectional, interlocking joint adapted to interlock with the second bidirectional, interlocking joint to prevent slippage and to enable rotation of the block body. The first bidirectional, interlocking joint has a first sawtooth and a first recess positioned adjacent to and joining the first sawtooth. The first recess is designed to receive a second sawtooth with a shape and dimension comparable to the first sawtooth.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2000Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Assignee: Pave Stone CompanyInventors: Bobby L. Patent number: 6097722Abstract: A system comprises a first asynchronous transfer mode switch, a second asynchronous transfer mode switch, and a system control module. The first asynchronous transfer mode switch and the second asynchronous transfer mode switch are interconnected with one another via a physical interface. The first asynchronous transfer mode switch is in communication with the with the second asynchronous transfer mode switch via a virtual connection on the physical interface. The virtual connection has a corresponding bandwidth. The system control module is in communication with the first asynchronous transfer mode switch. The system control module is in communication with the second asynchronous transfer mode switch via the first asynchronous transfer mode switch and the physical interface. The system control module dynamically controls the corresponding bandwidth of the virtual connection over time.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1996Date of Patent: August 1, 2000Assignee: Nortel Networks CorporationInventors: Gregory S. Patent number: 5953338Abstract: A system comprises a system control module and a plurality of interconnected asynchronous transfer mode switches the interconnected asynchronous transfer mode switches are interconnected with one another via at least one physical interface to form a network. The network is used to transfer various types of information. Each asynchronous transfer mode switch has a connection admission control module to determine whether a virtual connection, such a virtual path, virtual channel, or grouping of virtual paths, can be connected through that particular asynchronous transfer mode switch. The virtual connection is formed from one asynchronous transfer mode switch to at least one other asynchronous transfer mode switch via a link of the at least one physical interface. The system control module connects to at least one asynchronous transfer mode switch and determines whether the virtual connection can be created in the network.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1996Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: Northern Telecom LimitedInventors: Patrick S. Patent number: 5940475Abstract: An integrated text based TTY system comprises a telephone network, a private branch exchange, a voice mail system, and a text server. The telephone network is adapted to receive a TTY call from a calling party from a TTY device, which is external to said integrated text based TTY system, to a called party. A private branch exchange is in communication with the telephone network and adapted to receive the TTY call from the telephone network. A voice mail system is in communication with the private branch exchange. A text server is in communication with the private branch exchange to receive the TTY call. The text server is also in communication with the voice mail system.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1997Date of Patent: August 17, 1999Assignee: Northern Telecom LimitedInventor: Frederick W. Hansen

Patent number: 5933476Abstract: A TTY telephonic display to receive a TTY message, having a first mode and a second mode, such as a letters mode and a characters mode. The second mode is a representation of the first mode and vice versa. The TTY telephonic display comprises a first line and a second line. The first line shows characters which have been typed, transmitted, and received in a figures mode. The second line shows characters in the second mode which have been typed, transmitted, and received in the first mode. The first line and the second line are shown simultaneously in close proximity with one another, such as over one another. A process of displaying a TTY message, which has a first mode and a second mode, comprises displaying a first line, the first line showing characters which have been typed, transmitted, and received in a first mode; and displaying a second line in the second mode in close proximity to the first line, the second line showing characters which have been typed, transmitted, and received in the first mode.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1997Date of Patent: August 3, 1999Assignee: Northern Telecom LimitedInventors: Frederick W. Patent number: 5919021Abstract: A transport apparatus to load and transport at least one bail of hay comprises a goose-neck assembly and a trailer. The goose-neck assembly is attachable to a towing vehicle. The trailer is attached to the goose-neck assembly and able to pivot about at least one axis, so that one portion of the trailer can be lowered to a first position. The first position is that at least one bail of hay can be loaded onto at least one portion of the trailer. A motor, which is controllable by an operator in the towing vehicle, can be used that automatically raises and lowers the at least one portion of the trailer into the first position. The goose-neck assembly is also motorized with a motor, so that the goose-neck assembly can orient the trailer into a position horizontal to the towing vehicle. A motor can also be used to raise and lower prongs, which are used to secure a bail of hay and transport a bail of hay to the trailer.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1998Date of Patent: July 6, 1999Inventor: Melvin C.
