Patent number: 5513979Abstract: A control or regulating system for an automatic heat furnace is disclosed. This control system simplifies the construction of automatic gas furnaces for heating plants. The control system operates the furnaces with a high degree of efficiency and low pollutant emission, even at partial capacity. The adjusting element or mechanism for air is a blower with adjustable rotational speed which is driven by a motor. The motor is controllable by, preferably, digital pulse-width modulated control signals of a control aggregate acted upon by a regulator. A gas valve regulates the pressure of the gas supplied to the burner as a function of the air pressure in the line leading from the blower to the burner.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1994Date of Patent: May 7, 1996Assignee: Landis & Gyr Business Support A.G.Inventors: Anton Pallek, Michael Oberst

Patent number: 5503537Abstract: The present invention relates to a gas compressor which prevents noise being produced in the suction conduit during idling. In conventional systems, the noise results from the collision of arriving and returning gas by means of a check valve provided between the suction chamber and the suction conduit. The present invention avoids this noise by providing an additional chamber which is connected via an admixture valve to the compression chamber (20) during the idling operation. This invention is especially applicable to pneumatic systems in automotive technology.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 1994Date of Patent: April 2, 1996Assignee: WABCO Vermogensverwaltungs GmbHInventors: Heinrich Schlossarczyk, Werner Heger

Patent number: 5503367Abstract: An exhaust gas obturator comprises a tubular housing (11a) having a butterfly valve (14a,15) journalled in the wall thereof. The butterfly valve spindle (14a) passes through a chamber (24,25) on one side of the housing and carries a sealing ring (26) thereon and located in the chamber (24,25). The sealing ring (26) is a close sliding fit on the butterfly valve spindle (14a) when the obturator is closed, exhaust gas pressure on the upstream side enters the chamber (24,25) and urges the seal (26) against a cover plate (23a) thereby to prevent the escape of exhaust gas to atmosphere. The chamber (24,25) is preferably vented to the downstream side. The seal may alternatively be biased by resilient means (not shown).Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 1994Date of Patent: April 2, 1996Assignee: WABCO Automotive U.K. LimitedInventors: Derek Thompson, Magnus E. Patent number: 5501991Abstract: In accordance with the invention, the emitter region of a BJT is formed prior to the formation of the base contact regions so that the base contact regions are not enlarged during a thermal cycle used to form the emitter and the base contact regions remain small. Preferably, the base contact regions are formed by ion implantation after the emitter is formed. In addition, the base interconnect links may be metal (or polycide) rather than polysilicon so that the base interconnect resistance is reduced. This results in the following advantages: reduced emitter-base junction leakage, reduced collector-base junction capacitance, and reduced base interconnection series resistance.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1994Date of Patent: March 26, 1996Assignee: Winbond Electronics CorporationInventor: Wen-Yueh Jang

Patent number: 5499845Abstract: A pressure fluid operated ride leveler which adjusts the actual level of a vehicle body relative to a vehicle axle to a desired level, includes a pressure fluid source and a pressure fluid sink, pressure fluid chambers which support the vehicle body, and a pressure fluid conduit connecting the pressure fluid chambers to either the pressure fluid source or the pressure fluid sink. First and second controllable valve mechanisms are disposed in the pressure fluid conduit. The second valve mechanism is, e.g., a controllable throttling valve, capable of reducing the diameter of the pressure fluid conduit. Both the first and second valve mechanisms are actuated by a control unit. The control unit actuates the first valve mechanism to connect the chambers to the pressure fluid source or the pressure fluid sink based on the difference between the actual level of the vehicle body and the desired level.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1993Date of Patent: March 19, 1996Assignee: Wabco Standard GmbHInventors: Hartmut Geiger, Reinhard Gocz, Uwe Lentz, Johann Lucas, Dieter Zimpel

Patent number: 5497532Abstract: The vacuum cleaner nozzle of the invention is provided with a nozzle body equipped with a suction pipe connecting piece and with a bottom plate which closes off the nozzle body towards the bottom, whereby at least one flow channel which is open towards the bottom and lets out into a central suction channel connected to the pipe connecting piece is located in the bottom plate. The flow channel is here double-parabolic in profile, meaning that it is parabolic in its cross section as well as in its longitudinal section extending perpendicularly to the bottom plate in relation to the longitudinal axis of the flow channel. The cross-section increases in this case from the bottom of the flow channel in the direction of the floor and from the end of the flow channel away from the suction channel in the direction of said suction channel. Thanks to this configuration of the suction channel, even distribution of the suction capacity is achieved over the entire width of the vacuum cleaner nozzle.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1994Date of Patent: March 12, 1996Assignee: Wessel-Werk GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5497380Abstract: Information appearing in the form of analog low-voltage signals (V.sub.1 ;V.sub.2) on call lines (ML1;ML2) which represents the states of switchgears (2.1;2.2) is conveyed in parallel to a circuit block (4). The information is digitalized at certain points in time and in accordance with a predetermined voltage level as binary values "0" or "1" and is transmitted in series to a control logic unit (1). The circuit block (4) is preferably a plurality of shift registers in cascade connection. Each call line is coupled via a coupling element (3.1;3.2) to the circuit block (4) so that the circuit block (4) is not destroyed even when overvoltages occur. In the closed state of a switchgear (2.1;2.2), a signal voltage (U.sub.1 ;U.sub.2) with changeable course appears at the corresponding input (4.1;4.2) of the circuit block (4). In the open state of a switchgear (2.1;2.2), the signal voltage (U.sub.1 ; U.sub.2) is a uniform signal (U.sub.1 ;U.sub.2).Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1994Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Assignee: Landis & Gyr Technology Innovation AGInventors: Klaus Bott, Bernd Schukraft

Patent number: 5496409Abstract: A semiconductor wafer processing system is disclosed which reduces particle accumulations in the wafer loading chamber during the pump down and vent cycle. A separate venting tube is provided which is positioned within the roughing tube used for the pump-down cycle. The venting tube is isolated from particulate matter which may be present in the roughing tube so that venting gas flow does not cause re-entry of the residual particulate matter into the loading chamber. The venting tube can be easily and inexpensively installed as a particle reduction kit into existing wafer processing systems.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 1994Date of Patent: March 5, 1996Assignee: United Microelectronics CorporationInventor: Ping I.
